A confident and passionate guard who plays with tremendous effort and energy who consistently has proven this spring that he can thrive offensively at either backcourt spot, Anthony Mauro has gotten off to strong start this spring rolling with a number of standout outings. Mauro’s displayed efficient and confident perimeter shooting as a spot up threat, with deep range accuracy while also attacking the paint effectively and getting deep in the lane, finishing with soft touch floaters and crafty layups from a variety of angles. Mauro’s also flashed strong ball handling ability and solid court vision, creating a number advantageous drive and kick opportunities for his teammates and connecting with open big men inside.

Off to one of the more hotter starts this spring here in the state of New Jersey, it’ll be interesting to see where Mauro’s recruitment goes, particularly with the level of consistency he’s played at so far.

A confident and fiery guard who routinely proves to be a seamless offensive fit and being productive at either guard spot, Anthony Mauro continued his hot start to the spring with another impressive performance at MADE’s NYC Clash— a showing that showcased efficient perimeter spot up shooting while also getting in the lane to convert on different soft touch runners and crafty layups from different angles. All while also showing some pretty solid flashes of his strong ball handling and court vision to create drive and kick opportunities for his teammates and find open bigs down low.

Expected to part of an aggressive and fiery NYC Honor attack, Anthony Mauro showcased what his scoring attack can look like once he finds a rhythm. The southpaw shot maker showcased the versatility in which he can knock down outside shots, creating separation off the bounce and as a spot up shooter. All while also having the court vision and passing feel to make plays for torches and find guys open. 

Mauro does a good job existing in multi-guard lineups he shows the ability to play on or off the basketball. I like how the southpaw can change gears with ease and doesn’t let the game get too fast for him. He has no problem converting from deep and if he gets into a groove look out. Mauro is able to take what the defense gives him on a frequent basis and has a nice in-between game. Mauro should see more recruitment at the division one level over the next several months.

Maurp is a lethal lefty who can score efficiently from all three levels. He has a smooth shooting stroke from deep and confidence to rise up off the dribble. His ability to create separation and finish through traffic makes him a constant offensive threat. Maurp’s scoring versatility forces defenses to stay honest, opening up opportunities for both himself and his teammates.
