Always has his head up ready to push in transition. Not the quickest or most athletic but does a great job playing at different speeds. Really good shooter off the catch and dribble with a quick release and deep range. The smaller guard has always been wired to score but continues to get better and better as a playmaker for others as he has averaged 4 assists per game through three games this weekend. Capable of playing on or off the ball. Plays with a physical frame that helps him get to spots off the dribble. Crafty ball handler that allows him to squeeze into spaces and get shots off. Confident shooter off the catch that also made plays off the dribble getting all the way to the rim. Although only 6'1”, Murphy showed his defensive versatility with being able to guard multiple positions and being on time with rotations. Really good on the ball using his quickness and playing with active hands. Knocked down multiple threes as well as making plays for teammates by getting to his spots. Physical shooting guard that puts a ton of pressure on the rim. Does a good job getting his defender on his hip and keeping him there on drives and exploding to the rim for finishes while also being able to hurt teams from the behind the arc.
