Elijah Chinn
About Elijah
Expert Analysis
Logan Greenwell | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the more nuclear scoring guards in Southwest Indiana is showing his full versatility on the offensive end. The smaller guard has always been wired to score but continues to get better and better as a playmaker for others as he has averaged 4 assists per game through three games this weekend. Also a scrappy defender that pressures full court and is capable of turning defense into offense in a hurry.

He runs with WeDifferent 812. Chinn averaged 23 ppg at an event last weekend. The best part of his game is his scoring ability and high-level shooting. Alijah is consistent and has a great middy pull-up. Chinn is a player to watch because he always brings his best game to the court. Expect him to stand out all weekend long at The Stage.

was giving Breakaway 3SSB’s 17u team issues on Saturday night. Their a long and disciplined team, but Elijah was able to use his quickness to get to his spots and create for himself or his teammates off the dribble. By far the quickest player on the floor, there were times Elijah was running circles around defenders as they tried to slow him down. He was fearless attacking the basket against size, but could also stop on a dime for a pull-up jumper. He garnered a lot of attention with his handle and speed, which helped to free up his teammates for open looks. Despite the loss it was a strong showing for Chinn against top competition.

A microwave scorer off the bench, when Chinn enters the game, he’s an instant threat to score and when he’s hot, he’s hot! Smaller guard that hasn’t met a shot he doesn’t like. He’s a consistent shooter that elevates well on his jumper. Defensively he’s scrappy on the ball that can turn defense into offense in a hurry.

A very under-the-radar guard that I thought played super well off the bench was junior guard

. A shorter guard, Chinn is a tough and physical player who loves to go at the defense. He hit a few tough shots in the early part of the game vs. Columbus North and was super active on the defensive side. He always plays with a high motor every time I see him.

Confident combo guard out of Evansville Bosse that got hot late in the day. Big time shooter with deep range went three straight possessions in game 2 of the day knocking down threes both off the catch and off the dribble. Defensively he’s a hard nosed defender that plays with a high motor. Creates turnovers with his quickness and plays with a physicality while being under control.

Electric two-way guard that puts the pedal to metal on both ends of the way playing with a high motor. Shorter in stature but is able to guard any of the guard spots on the floor due to his quickness and strength. Really good pressuring the ball and keeping guys in front. Offensively he’s a jump shooter that really elevates. Good three-point shooter off the catch. If he puts it in the floor he’s looking to get to his middy. Had a really good summer and believe he will continue that throughout the fall and into his junior season.

Electric combo guard with in the gym range and unwavered confidence. Elevates well on his jumper and doesn’t need much space to get his shot off. Uses his body well to create space when attacking. Defensively, he’s a gritty guard with quick feet and active hands.
