Scoring:

[player_tooltip player_id='2754714' first='Trey' last='Osterhaus'] - Carlisle

The leading returning scorer in Class 3A and a prospect with one of the greenest lights in the state, Osterhaus was a volume scorer for the Wildcats in every sense of the term. Averaging 24.2 points per game, Osterhaus accounted for nearly half of Carlisle's 53.7 points per contest. One to attack the basket, Osterhaus is the engine that makes his team go.

Defense:

[player_tooltip player_id='2906433' first='Maddox' last='Kelley'] - Solon

The only player in all of 3A and one of just two players to nab over 100 steals last season, Kelley is more than just a football star that happens to play basketball, too. An athletic wing that plays some of the best defense in the state, Kelley grabbed four steals per game last season for the Spartans, helping turn defense into offense for the state qualifiers.

Playmaking:

[player_tooltip player_id='2309944' first='Josiah' last='Harrington'] - North Scott

The top scorer in the state that can do it all on the court, there's a reason Harrington was able to commit to Iowa State before he played a minute his sophomore year. Harrington is an elite athlete with bounce to throw down dunks with ease, soft hands to catch passes on back-door cuts, range to step out and shoot the three, strength to fight for rebounds and is mature on the basketball court to understand advantages. Whether it's attacking off the dribble, drilling a step-back from the outside or finding an open teammate for a shot, Harrington is the most well-rounded and high end prospect in the state. He's the top scoring 2027 going into next season, putting up 24.8 points per game.

Rebounding:

[player_tooltip player_id='2419757' first='Bryer' last='Putman'] - Wilton

A double-double machine that scores 22 points and adds 12.1 rebounds per game, Putman is one of the more dominant players in eastern Iowa. A 6-foot-5, springy and physical wing, Putman uses his frame and explosiveness to grab boards for putbacks and to start the fastbreak. Grabbing double-digit boards, his skillset on the glass would be a major add in cultivating the perfect wing prospect.

Shooting:

[player_tooltip player_id='2828832' first='Taegin' last='Smith'] - Marquette Catholic

Launching nearly 200 threes and making them at a 43% clip this season for the Defenders, Smith was critical in the latest run to the 1A state title game for Marquette Catholic. Few players in the state -- not just 1A -- made as many threes as the 6-foot-2 shooter did this last season, making 80 triples, the third-most amongst 2027s in the state.

Athleticism:

[player_tooltip player_id='1977076' first='Landon' last='Blum'] - Woodbine

A multi-sport star for Woodbine, Blum is another prospect that's focused on football, but he is one of the best basketball players in all of 1A. Able to drop-step dunk, launch from three and out-athlete just about anyone else in Class 1A, the Penn State commit at wide receiver is a high-flying, playmaking hooper that rounds out the skillset of Iowa's perfect wing.
