Rising Wave: 2027/2028 Prospects Making Noise This Summer

High level games have taken place all over the state of Texas and many shoe circuit teams have even traveled out of state to represent Texas amongst the "big dogs" of grassroots basketball. This article will dive a bit into some 2027/2028 athletes I have noticed making huge impacts this summer for their respective teams and are definitely difference makers. He is an elite playmaker and can create his own shots at will due to defensive mismatches. Burdine has a good touch from three-point range and his shiftiness with the ball allows him to score from all three levels. His defensive awareness and long wingspan disrupt passing lanes, allowing him to capitalize on steals and convert in transition. Childress has the size and mechanics to knock down jumpers over defenders, drop step under the rim, and protect the paint with a long wingspan and good fundamentals. Gabe also shows a comfortable touch from deep where he can beat defenders if they leave him open consistently. Coming off a stock rising season with the Bridgeland Bears, Shelby plays hands-on perimeter defense and converts tough and-ones at the rim due to his ability to draw contact. He finishes fastbreaks with dunks, blocks shots in the paint, and has good court awareness to always know where his teammates are. Dorsey is almost a guaranteed shooter if he is left open in the corner and takes advantage of failed close outs almost every possession if he has a clean view of the net.
