The 15U and 16U divisions at Prep Hoops The Stage were loaded with talent, as guards, wings, and post players all made their presence felt throughout the event. From explosive perimeter scorers and playmakers to physical interior presences who controlled the glass and protected the rim, this group of standouts brought energy, toughness, and production on both ends. With several players elevating their stock and proving they can impact winning in multiple ways, the weekend provided a strong glimpse into the future of the Midwest basketball scene. Here is Part 2 of my standouts:

The Columbus East product is a big part of a high potential [program_tooltip program_id='2076451' first='D1' last='Indiana'] 15u P32 team. He's comfortable playing on or off the ball and plays at his own pace and is tough to speed up. Really good in catch and shoot situations while also showing the ability to get to his spots off the dribble. He's active on both ends of the floor. Really good off ball cutter that knows how to get open. Defensively he picks his spots when going for steals. He plays extremely hard and always seems to be in position on rotations willing to sacrifice his body to get the stop.

Robinson is a tenacious guard that is willing to do whatever it takes to get his team a win. Only 5'11” but plays bigger than what he is. He wreaks havoc on the defensive end with his constant ball pressure and showed he can be a game changer turning defense into offense quickly. Offensively he's an aggressive downhill driver that seeks out contact and is a crafty finisher around the basket. Sometimes plays a little too fast, but love that he is always in attack mode and looking to make a play. Showed good court vision for a score first mentality. Showed a clean jumper from the perimeter knocking down multiple shots in the two games I got to see.

I've gotten the chance to see [player_tooltip player_id='2560402' first='Michael' last='Smith'] play multiple times over the last couple of seasons and every time I come away impressed with his production and improvement each time out. The long 6'6” Forward continues to expand his game offensively, but still knows his bread and butter. He has a soft touch around the basket over his left shoulder. He's really good in the mid post where he can face up and drive and has shown a nice midrange jumper from about 15 feet. He's a good screen setter that rolls hard and has good hands. Developing as a pick and pop big that can put it on the floor and create looks for himself. He's a high motor defender that competes on that end. Does a good job using his size to his advantage on switches. Fluid athlete that is a solid rim protector and rebounder to finish possessions.

The Evansville Bosse Product is not a flashy player. All he does is put his head down and do the dirty work and was one of the most productive players I saw this weekend. As an undersized forward, he has an unmatched ability to rebound and defend at a high level. His defensive versatility to be able to guard all five positions and do so without fouling makes him so valuable. He's a bit raw offensively. Doesn't necessarily have a go to move on the block, but when he gets two feet in the paint he's strong enough to finish through contact. He's a really good screen setter and showed really nice passing ability out of the post. Late in their first game with the score tied, he was able to get the game winning bucket as time expired as he got a post feed and made a move to the middle and finished.

Highly skilled and active guard for [program_tooltip program_id='2076451' first='D1' last='Indiana'] 15u P32 was impressive in the games I saw on Saturday. Plays at his own pace but always in attack mode looking to get downhill. Good athlete can guard multiple positions. Really good rebounding ability from that guard spot and pushes the ball in transition. In the half court he's a good cutter off the ball that can finish plays. Good looking shot off the catch, but is best when driving. Definitely a player to keep an eye on.

One of my favorite players from the weekend. [player_tooltip player_id='2617841' first='Dominic' last='Fey'] got going early and often in the first game I got to see him. Skilled 6'3” wing that showed off his full offensive versatility. High IQ player that's unselfish looking to make the right basketball play. He's a knock down shooter that shoots an effortless ball with deep range. He was really good getting all the way to the basket and finishing with either hand. Showed he can stop on a dime and rise up over defenders in the midrange. Also loved his playmaking ability out of pick and rolls. At 6'3” he was tall enough to see the floor well and made really nice passes setting teammates up for buckets.

One of the premier players in the Indiana in-state class of 2029, [player_tooltip player_id='2385390' first='Max' last='Hopkins'] is coming into his own after playing a small role for Fishers High School this season. The 6'8” Forward has had a strong start to the AAU season. He's a fluid athlete with a lot of skill for his size and age. Has the ability to stretch the floor from 3 while knowing he can be a handful down in the paint. He operates with good footwork and a soft touch over his left shoulder. He's also really good in the short roll where he can face up and make a play off the dribble for himself or find teammates for open shots. Defensively he's a big time rebounder and paint presence. He knows how to use his size to his advantage while blocking and altering shots at the rim.
