This is the part of the weekend that matters. Figuring out which players actually translate when you don't have a background on them. These guys didn't need much time to show it. Whether it was feel, physicality, or just understanding how to play, they checked enough boxes to move themselves into the conversation. See which 15U names are now on our radar.

Smith is a young prospect for [program_tooltip program_id='2836105' first='Pluto' last='Prospects'] 15U Black squad who flashed this weekend. He was a steady interior anchor and impacted the game with discipline and physicality in a sped-up game. He defends straight up by putting his hands in the air without fouling to alter shots, rebounds in traffic, and finishes with both hands around the rim, which stood out for me. Smith also closed a pivotal stretch with big-time boards out of his area that flipped possessions and kept them in the game. Offensively, he showed flashes as he put it on the deck a bit, set hard screens, and understood his role. I want to see how he improves in games, but he impressed me with his skillset.

The more you watch Pyle, the more he reveals his value. He's long and wiry, he organizes the offense, communicates, and puts teammates in push spots to score. What I really liked about his game is how he plays with feel. Pyle keeps the ball moving, runs in transition, and reads spaces in the defense where he made the defense pay. Although he looked comfortable with the ball in his hands, he was one of the few guards who was still effective as a cutter and connector off the ball, and started to get more aggressive as the game progressed. I liked his game; he's a winner.

Thomas brings a physical edge and competitiveness that changes games, and I am here for it. He plays through contact, initiates the contact, finishes at the rim, and competes with controlled aggression. That really translates to big plays on the defensive end, and that kept showing in his games. He's a switchable defender at this level; he guards multiple spots and raises the team's toughness. He's not too flashy, just productive, and he brings it on every single possession. He had a few games where he would score multiple baskets simply by wanting it more. He's the type of young prospect that every roster needs, as his energy, versatility, and aggressiveness are what tilt momentum when things get tight. Curious to see what he turns into, but this weekend, he was a two-way menace.

Beauprez is a true floor-spacer, and he creates gravity with deep range. He got hot at various times throughout the weekend, and defenses had to know where he was. He was comfortable shooting off movement and created shows for himself. He stays shot-ready and punishes late closeouts when they don't get there. When he had the ball in his hands, he was handling pressure as a combo guard that you could play both on and off-ball. In the game that I saw, when things got close, he was the microwave scorer who extended the lead, and he's a player who I feel will certainly be one of the top names come senior year if we stay on this track. Big weekend for him.

Micah ran the show for the [program_tooltip program_id='2078368' first='Colorado' last='Titans'] and put them in good spots. He ran the full, pushed the pace, and controlled tempo. He's a true guard who plays unselfishly, and that is contagious. When that slowed down, he applied rim pressure, got into the teeth of the defense, and finished inside. With his IQ and decision-making, he has the makings to be a very solid player. He's a player who is now on our radar, and he had a very solid weekend for the 15U division.
