Something happened when the calendar flipped to April - it spurred a mass announcement of college commitments in the space of just a few days!

In fact, from what we've seen over the last few years, the stretch from April 1st through April 6th was one of the busiest in recent memory in New England, with at least 20 recruits announcing their future plans during that stretch.

Today, we'll dive into the first set of those commitments, with a look at eight prospects that have now come off the board.

[player_tooltip player_id='1729831' first='Jordan' last='Skyers']

Skyers, a guard out of Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, wrapped up his recruitment when he announced that he'll attend Norfolk State University. A 6'3" guard that can really shoot the basketball, Skyers is competitive, crafty, and tough. He can create his own off the bounce, is a high level shooter in catch and shoot situations, and has a bulldog mentality on the defensive end of the floor. Don't be surprised if he makes an immediate impact at Norfolk State, as he could be in the running for Newcomer of the Year in the MEAC.

[player_tooltip player_id='2101863' first='Kamai' last='Samuels']

Samuels, a guard out of Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut, made his future plans official when he announced that he'll attend Tennessee Tech University. The 6'2" lead guard makes a living in the paint, getting wherever he wants off the bounce and creating easy scoring opportunities for his teammates. He has a plus plus wingspan that compliments his athleticism and allows him to be an elite perimeter defender. He should make a major splash at Tennessee Tech and could be one of the top freshman in the OVC.

Johnny Keenan

Keenan, a guard out of the St. Thomas More School in Connecticut, came off the board with a commitment to the University of Pennsylvania. A 6'0" lead guard, Keenan does a great job of running an offense in the half-court, shows good vision as a passer, and knows how to play at different speeds with the ball in his hands. He sees the game well, on both ends of the floor, and is able to make plays with his instincts and understanding of angles. He's a tailor-made fit for Penn and already looks the part of an Ivy League lead guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1336430' first='Nick' last='Hailey']

Hailey, a wing out of Phillips Academy Andover in Massachusetts, finalized his future plans with an announcement that he'll attend New York University. Hailey is an elite athlete on the wing that can finish over or through defenders at the rim. He's a great finisher when playing off of two feet, has the ability to make perimeter jumpers when his feet are set, and is a tough, two-way rebounder that mixes it up in traffic. He should be a difference maker from Day 1 at NYU and could be in the mix for Rookie of the Year honors in the UAA.

[player_tooltip player_id='2896608' first='Kabir' last='Narasimhan']

Narasimhan, a wing out of the Newman School in Massachusetts, put a bow on his recruitment when he committed to Harvard University. The 6'5" wing is one of the best shooters in the region, with a high release and deep range on his jumper. He's done a nice job of rounding out his offensive game and is a terrific off-ball mover. He competes defensively and should be able to guard on the wing or in the paint at the next level. His ability to shoot the ball will be what gets him on the floor for Harvard and he could develop into one of the best shooters in the Ivy League.

[player_tooltip player_id='2407064' first='Anthony' last='DeJohn']

DeJohn, a guard out of Worcester Academy in Massachusetts, wrapped up his recruitment with an announcement that he'll attend Endicott College. The 6'3" guard is another of New England's most elite perimter shooters. He really impressed this winter with the evolution of his off the dribble game and has turned himself into a multi-level scorer that can finish it in a variety of ways around the rim. He'll give Endicott a major threat from behind the arc and could contend for Rookie of the Year honors in the CNE.

Sheron Brown

Brown, a guard out of Shrewsbury High School in Massachusetts, finalized his plans for the next level with a commitment to Rivier University. Brown is a crafty, comb-guard that plays with good pace and quickness. He gets to his spots off the bounce, has some creativity as a scorer around the rim, and knows how to get his shot off in isolation situations. Defensively, his lateral mobility allows him to guard at a high level at the point of attack. He has a chance to quickly earn minutes for Rivier and is the type of prospect that typically finds success in the GNAC.

[player_tooltip player_id='2325800' first='Evan' last='Eaton']

Eaton, a guard out of the Tilton School in New Hampshire, came off the board when he announced his commitment to the University of Saint Joseph. The 6'2" guard is a plus athlete that can make plays in the open floor, knocks down catch and shoot threes, and shows a good feel for the game as a decision maker with the ball in his hands. Beyond that, he's a versatile defender that guards the ball well and is disruptive in passing lanes. This is a match of prospect and style for Saint Joseph, with Eaton profiling as an eventual contender for all-league honors in the GNAC.
