Yesterday, I attended New England Recruiting Report's Elite 75. There were about 60 players in attendance across the classes of 2026-2029. They each competed in live 3v3, shooting drills, and 5v5 play.

Over the next couple days, I'll be reviewing some of the showcase's best players. To begin, let's look at my NERR Academic Elite 75 First-Team.

Adegbite was the best player at yesterday's showcase, and I don't think it was particularly close. The 6-foot-6 forward could've scored on virtually possession at will, but he showed off some really solid playmaking skills in addition to his scoring ability. He has a solid handle and excellent strength, so he effortlessly gets to the rack and finishes cleanly with both hands, but he can also make smart spray-out passes once the defense collapses. Adegbite has good toughness and explosion, too, which he showed on a variety of contested lefty takes to the rim for and-one finishes. He strikes me as a scholarship player, especially if he can continue to improve his outside shot.

Urey is a basketball player, plain and simple. He's natural with the rock in his hands and clearly understands how to operate an offense and pick his spots. The 5-foot-10 guard is undersized, but he has an excellent handle and feel for the game, so he's effective in the pick and roll and in small spaces. If you don't defend him, he'll carve you up for finishes in the paint with both hands, but if you bring help and collapse on him, he'll find dump down and kick out passes at will. He can also make open threes, though he needs to get better from there. Urey is an extremely smart player who should find a D3 fit when the time comes.

I wasn't familiar with Percival before yesterday's showcase, but he really impressed me with his willingness and ability to do all of the dirty work. The 6-foot-6 wing/forward can shoot the ball from three and handle it, but he's most effective as a versatile defender and ball connector. He has excellent instincts in the passing lanes and at the rim, and he has the toughness and motor to compete every possession, even at a showcase. Percival is additive in virtually every way and can fit in any system, so he should make a solid D3 player once the time comes.

Reeves played a key role on Notre Dame West Haven this past season, and you could see why last night. The 6-foot guard picked up ball-handlers for 94 feet the entire night and made life hell for them—he was probably the Elite 75's best point-of-attack defender. Offensively, he showcased the ability to use his off arm to get into the paint, either making floaters/layups or finding teammates if the defense collapsed. He's under control and solid, and he just looks like a seasoned basketball player. Reeves will be a D3 player once the time comes, and a big senior season with ND West Haven could help him there.

Wettlaufer has an intriguing skillset. The 6-foot-9 forward is super strong and tough in the paint, so he's able to defend opposing big men comfortably and rebound it well. But he also has good footwork in the paint and can finish with both hands, not to mention the fact that he sees the floor well for his size and can throw down dunks in transition. Wettlaufer probably projects as a D3 player unless he's able to improve his athleticism and strength to the point where he can effectively guard bigs down low and guards on the perimeter—perhaps a post-grad year could help him there.
