On Sunday April 13th I attended the 3Stripes Gold West Session 1 at West Point HS in Avondale. I watched many Arizona teams but also viewed teams from Alaska, Oregon, Montana, California.

Here were the Top Scorers Viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='2026486' first='Keone' last='Gates'] Parkrose (Oregon Triple 17)

A smooth scoring point guard who makes plays with drive and kicks and will find teammates easily. He splits defenders effortlessly and can then score it with crow hops and tough layups. He creates a little separation and will rise up from mid-range and he will hit the three. He is hyper competitive on defense with his twitch, length and athleticism.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759167' first='Taylan' last='Owens'] Canyon View (United Skills Academy 16)

A pure point guard who can score. He had a few needle threaders but really knows how to fill it up from all levels. He is quick on quick to get separation from his defenders and will score it with bursts to the basket, off the dribble threes and mid pull-ups. He had 31 of the teams 63 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276224' first='Tre' last='Wilkins'] AZ Compass Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 17)

A strong and steady scoring combo guard. He has a nice pace and handle and understands how to change speeds and will hesitate to get downhill. He uses that sturdy frame of his to carve out space plus shoots it easily from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759169' first='Kha'leal' last='Brown'] McClintock ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 15)

A freshmen scoring lead guard is a bucket. He is a great ball handler who comes into the game and immediately puts pressure on the defense to make plays up the court and will score it in transition or on the glass. He loves to play mid and in.

[player_tooltip player_id='2808486' first='Cannon' last='Henderson'] Williams Field ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 15)

A scoring point guard is a next level passer making his teammates around him better but he scores it easily. He will attack the defense with his tighter handle and speed with the ball and he has a nice looking stroke from the three point line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2949101' first='Kentrell' last='King II'] Sequoia Pathfinder ([program_tooltip program_id='2265774' first='UH' last='Elite 3 Stripe'] 15)

A quick on quick undersized point guard has the ball on a string and he can make plays but is wired to score. He has a nasty mid-range pull-up he loves to utilize. He uses his tighter handle to get to his spots and will quickly rise up. He can burst to the basket and has great control of the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2475408' first='Kyree' last='Harder'] Catalina Foothills (O3 17)

A combo guard will make some nice passes with drive and kicks, dump offs in traffic but he is looking to score. He will score from all levels with tough shots in traffic, fade aways from mid-range and he will hit the three off the catch with a quicker release.

[player_tooltip player_id='3148393' first='Henry' last='Miller'] Seton Catholic (AZ Gremlins 16)

A bigger combo guard is a good passer with a high feel for the game. He will score it with changing speeds well to get to the basket and handle it well to not get ripped. He will hit the three off the catch and hit the mid-range pull-up and get buckets inside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2763917' first='Tyler' last='Lake'] Gilbert (AZ Gremlins 16)

A stronger framed combo guard has some size, strength, feel and skill. He will collect steals with his frame, strength and length and rebounds really well for a guard. He will score it with inside takes to the basket, threes off the catch and often gets to the free throw line.
