The Commonwealth Basketball Group was back with another event this past weekend, featuring some of the top teams from all over the state of VA. Here's a look at seven of the top 17U standouts at the event.

Horatio Kinlock | 6'2” CG | Circle Sports

Kinlock was a breakout player at the event, as the Huguenot guard showed his raw talent with his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor on full display. He's a quick guard both going north-south and moving his feet laterally to stay in front on the defensive end, he gets in the paint where he's an athletic and crafty finisher, he can knock down open shots from deep, and he is capable of making plays in transition and when he touches the paint.

Griffin Kerr | 6'4” F | Circle Sports

Kerr was another player who was very impressive for Circle Sports, as the 6'4” hybrid forward was putting up big numbers in a lot of different ways. While he's not the most explosive player he knows how to use his body around the rim to finish over bigger defenders, he can step out and knock down shots from deep, he plays with a great motor on the glass and on the defensive end, and he just makes positive things happen for his team.

Rasean Miller | 6'4” WF | Circle Sports

Miller is one of the more intriguing long term prospects that shined for this Circle Sports group, as the 6'4” wing showed a lot of upside with his aggression and athleticism to go along with a solid skillset that will improve with time. He has a prototypical frame for his position with long arms and an upper body that should fill out well moving forward, he is dynamite in transition with explosive finishing ability above the rim, he showed he can create shots on the ball and work off the ball to get open, and he has huge upside as a perimeter lock down defender moving forward.

Isaac Radde | 6'3” WG | VA Havoc 434

Radde is coming off a big junior season at Tandem Friends, and he looks like he's ready to make a splash this summer with Havoc 434 as he put up big time numbers in both of their games this past weekend. The 6'3” wing is a dead eye shooter from deep who works well off the ball and sets his feet on the move, he can create separation and make tough shots on the ball, he has effortless range and a quick release, and when he gets it going he can fill it up in bunches and take over a game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815378' first='Trey' last='Lonardo'] | 6'4” WF | NOVA Cavs

Coming off a big junior season where he was named All State and led George Marshall to the state playoffs, Lonardo showed his versatility at the event with his ability to do a little bit of everything to help his team. He is a mismatch offensively who can post smaller defenders or work on the perimeter where he can deck it and make shots, he's an unselfish playmaker who makes good reads and the right play consistently, he gets his shots within the flow of the offense and doesn't stagnate it, and he is a very good rebounder and defender as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='3499719' first='Brady' last='Conklin'] | 6'0” PG | NOVA Cavs

Conklin was one of the breakout players in NOVA public school this past season for CG Woodson, and he was highly impressive over the past weekend where he showed he can both run a team and be a go-to scoring threat as well. He processes the game very quickly making great decisions on the catch and off the bounce, he is a three level scorer who is efficient and is able to make plays late in the shot clock, he is crafty with the ability to change speeds and use footwork to create space, and he has great instincts on the defensive end too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2353645' first='Tyler' last='Kim'] | 6'3” WG | NOVA Cavs

Kim has been one of the better players in NOVA public schools over the past few years, and he showed that this weekend as he scored it in a number of ways and made plays on both ends of the floor. He's got good size on the perimeter to challenge shots and get deflections, he shot the ball very well from deep and showed a quick release so he didn't need much time to get it off, and he is very good at coming off of screens and making the correct read to get his shot or progress through the offense.

Brey Bell | 6'0” CG | Higher Level

Screenshot

Bell had a couple of impressive games for Higher Level throughout the weekend, including a big performance against a very talented New World 16U group. The 6'0” combo can light it up from deep with effortless range and a quick release, he's quick off the bounce to get by defenders and can create space to get his shot off, and he's very active defensively flying around in the press and sitting down to guard the ball as well.
