Instead of doing another big ranking this week, I've decided to rank each team in 3A and 4A based on their resume and playoff performances thus far. There's only eight teams left. Only one team can win it all. I'll also rank the 4A teams and polish that article later tonight.

1. Deatur MacArthur

It's honestly a toss-up between them and East St. Louis. But we have Macarthur ranked slightly higher right now. DeCatur MacArthur has been led by seniors Tyshawn Clemons and [player_tooltip player_id='2890389' first='Khymir' last='Carson']. Clemons is a versatile, aggressive scorer averaging 18 pointer per game this season. He's put together numerous big scoring performances this postseason. As of now, the generals are the only 3A team without an in-state loss.

2. East St. Louis

The Flyers dropping a game to Belleville West a few weeks ago puts them at #2. But their game with MacArthur on Sunday might decide who wins in that class. East St. Louis will have the best prospect in this game with Penn State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1873523' first='Jamison' last='White']. They might have more size than their opponent. But the grit and energy from MacArthur will make this an entertaining matchup.

3. Morton

The potters are in the midst of an incredible season and it only got better with a win over Kankakee. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3143200' first='Silas' last='Steffen'], [player_tooltip player_id='2734458' first='Alex' last='McKie'], and Tommy Kurpa make up an experienced, deep squad that has won 24 straight games.

4. Kaneland

Kaneland is the last remaining unbeaten team in Illinois. But the strength of schedule has been a minor issue for them. Nonetheless, Marshwn Cocroft has been one of the states best floor generals. The matchup with Morton on Monday will be the hardest matchup for them all season.

5. Hyde Park

Amari LeFlore has been a dynamic guard for the Thunderbirds all season. Sprinkling together a very strong resume which includes a nice run in the CPS tournament as well as a win over Leo, their Monday opponent, earlier in the season.

6. Leo

Leo has always been a sneaky Catholic League program capable of beating anyone whencits their night. 6'8" Freshman big [player_tooltip player_id='2964028' first='Elon' last='Henderson'] could be one of the best prospects in the class of 2029. His efforts have helped Leo win 17 of their last 19 games.

7. Deerfield

Dartmouth commit [player_tooltip player_id='1552404' first='Jake' last='Pollack'] put together two strong performances in last weeks sectionals, including 23 vs Wauconda. They then took down Lake Forest on Friday. A lot has been going around about freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2403346' first='Drew' last='Schnurman']. He looks to be an x-factor on this squad.

8. St. Francis

A cinderella run for the 7-seed in the Hinsdale South sectional. On this run, they took down Fenwick, Joliet Catholic, Lemont, and Wheaton Academy. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2382444' first='Tanner' last='Hozian'], [player_tooltip player_id='2391701' first='Nathan' last='Silagi'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2423510' first='Carter' last='Clark'] have led the charge. Ss well as junior Benjamin Whorlow.
