Crane set the tone early for the Maroons, blocking shots on each of Senior's first two possessions and Dowling never really looked back after that. The 6-10 big man was able to roam all over the floor on the defensive end, with Dowling assigning him to a very limited offensive option, allowing him to rotate freely and protect the paint. He blocked 6 shots and completely altered the way that Senior, a team that likes to play inside-out, was able to attack Dowling. He finished with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 6 blocks in the Maroons' win.

While Crane set the tone in the paint for the Maroons, Martens was the tone setter on the perimeter. Senior's guards really struggled to keep the 6-0 senior guard in front of them, as he was able to consistently use dribble penetration to get into the teeth of the defense and either score, get to the free-throw line, or set up his teammates. He played a great all-around floor game, finishing with a game-high 18 points on 5-11 shooting (1-3 3P, 7-10 FT), 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Kolee was the primary defender on Senior star [player_tooltip player_id='1172887' first='Tevin' last='Schultz'] throughout most of the night, and he did a great job on the 25-point scorer, holding him to 15 points on 7-14 shooting. An agile, long 6-8 forward who moves his feet well and is tenacious on the offensive glass, Kolee had a strong two-way game, finishing with 13 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, and a block. He showed some ability to create his own looks off the dribble, taking slower-footed defenders off the bounce on a wing catch and getting to the rim.

The lone J-Hawk who was able to find any modicum of success on the offensive end against Cedar Falls stout defense was Pargeon, a bouncy 6-5 wing who put on an aerial display throughout the night. He finished with 30 points on 10-18 shooting (4-9 3P, 6-6 FT), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He knocked down several tough, contested shots off the dribble and showcased impressive athleticism.

Kimbrough was sensational for the Tigers in their blowout win over Urbandale, finishing with 28 points on 8-14 shooting (3-9 3P, 9-12 FT), 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. He's one of the best shooters in the state, able to bury shots routinely both on-and-off platform. He gets great elevation on his jumper and has unlimited range. Unlike many big-time scorers, he's not a ball stopper, keeping the ball moving constantly, finding open teammates and passing up his own good shot for a great one for a teammate. He recently de-committed from D2 Winona State and has previously held plenty of low-to-mid-major interest.

It's hard for a player shooting 75% from the floor on the season to see his field goal percentage increase after a state tournament game, but that's exactly what will happen with Gerdes, who was 13-14 from the floor en route to 28 points for the Tigers. He does a great job making quick decisions on his post touches, keeping the ball high, and his footwork is fantastic. He was relentless on the offensive glass, using his size advantage to tap the ball up to himself and corral it, finishing with 9 offensive rebounds, and 15 total. He was dominant on both ends of the floor.
