Each rankings update brings its share of movement, but this cycle also spotlighted a group of prospects making noise beyond the Top 150. Several players took meaningful steps forward, using strong seasons and impactful performances to elevate their standing and put themselves firmly on the radar. These are the names gaining traction across South Carolina and pushing their way into the conversation.

Leading off this group of Stock Risers Outside the Top 150 is [player_tooltip player_id='2529301' first='Ali' last='Sannoun']. Sannoun is just outside the qualifier, moving up from #189 to #151 in the final Prep Hoops South Carolina Class of 2026 Rankings. Ali was much more impactful than his 6.2 points per game average would show, because he often ran the show for a high-powered TL Hanna offense with 4.2 assists per game. Sannoun will play for Morocco at the FIBA U18 African Championships, which could give him an extra chance to catch the eye of a college coach before it's time to make a decision.

Pickney is another guard who slots just outside of the top 150. He took a major step in his development in 2025-26, improving from just 3.0 points per game and 1.5 assists per game as a junior to 10.9 points per game and 2.1 assists per game as a senior. The emergence of Pinckney was a huge piece to the Lower-State Championship-winning puzzle of Ashley Ridge, and Columbia International was the first college to offer him in early March. Shayne is a scrappy defender, willing playmaker, and improving shooter, so with the positive signs he showed this year, he should only continue that trajectory at the next level.

Checking in right behind Pickney at #154 is Grant. Morrison put together another excellent season at SCISA 3A Charleston Collegiate, going for 12.6 points per game, 7.8 assists per game, and 6.5 steals per game to help lead the Sun Devils to a State Championship appearance. His steals per game number was the best in the state, and he was second in assists per game, but I was just as impressed with Grant evaluating him in person as I was with the numbers. Morrison was extremely important to everything his team did, whether that was forcing turnovers, setting up others for easy looks, or even taking over for tough buckets when his team needed them.

[player_tooltip player_id='2639844' first='Ta'Maj' last='Gilliam'] got a big bump in the 2026 Rankings, moving from #207 to #169 in the Spring Update. Gilliam stood out at 2A Batesburg-Leesville High School, putting up 17.2 points per game to help lead them to a 3rd Place finish in Region 2 and a birth in the State Playoffs. Ta'Maj was an impactful defender, efficient on and off the ball, and a key leader for the Panthers all season long. On offense, he balances a nice pull-up game with a good feel for setting up his teammates, which makes him a difficult guard in the half-court and in transition.

One of the best guards in SCISA this season was Greene. He was a one-man army at times this season, leading Florence Christian at 21.8 points per game, more than double their second-leading scorer. Part of that is his play style - a ball-dominant guard who is capable of scoring off the dribble against any defensive look. Taylor also went for 3.7 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game, showing he could be more impactful than just a high-volume scorer. Greene earned individual recognition as an SCISA All-Star, while also leading the Eagles to two playoff wins before they met with the eventual 3A State Champs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1731638' first='Kenard' last='Heyward'] rounds out the stock risers in the final update of the Prep Hoops South Carolina 2026 Rankings. KK is a multi-time All-State selection at Carvers Bay High School who put up 15.6 points per game and 3.3 steals per game to help lead the Bears to a 20-win season and an appearance in the Lower State Championship Game. Heyward may play at a small school, but he has proved year after year that he is a winning player and a high-level athlete.
