Andrew Baxley | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the best guards in SCISA this season was Greene. He was a one-man army at times this season, leading Florence Christian at 21.8 points per game, more than double their second-leading scorer. Part of that is his play style – a ball-dominant guard who is capable of scoring off the dribble against any defensive look. Taylor also went for 3.7 assists per game and 2.0 steals per game, showing he could be more impactful than just a high-volume scorer. Greene earned individual recognition as an SCISA All-Star, while also leading the Eagles to two playoff wins before they met with the eventual 3A State Champs.

On the other side of the floor, there was just as entertaining a scoring performance that came in a different way. Greene is another one of the top scorers in SCISA, but this was my first time seeing him in person. He didn’t disappoint, going for 21 points, including several super tough baskets. Taylor has a pretty quick first step, plays off two feet in the lane, and has no problem getting jumpers up off the dribble at all three levels. The Saints switched to a zone that cut off a lot of Greene’s driving lanes in the second half, but I still have no doubts that Taylor can really go and should get a bump up in the rankings.

Greene plays in the backcourt for the Eagles. Taylor is currently averaging 18.1 ppg this season at the SCISA Class 4A level. Taylor is not flashy with his game, but he sure is confident at times with his play. He generally uses good shot selection while on the floor and never seems to rush his shot.
He currently moved up from #79 to #63 in this latest update here at Prep Hoops.

Taylor was the first man off the bench for the Eagles here today. Greene a point guard sees the floor well and made a few heady passes along the way today. Can he help the Eagles in SCISA Class 3A make some noise this coming season?
