There were 404 teams that entered 64 different Sectional brackets across the state of Indiana on Tuesday evening. Now, after Wednesday night's games have concluded, there are only 256 teams still standing. That number will be cut in half again on Friday night and then once again on Saturday evening. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage from "The Cave" at Mishawka High School, the state's oldest active gymnasium, for two quarterfinal finals from Sectional 3. Here are some of the individual standouts from Penn versus Michigan City and South Bend Riley versus LaPorte.

Coolman is so intricately involved in everything Penn does and is the primary reason they are 18-6 and heading to the Sectional 3 semifinals. The 6'4" sophomore point guard posted yet another impressive stat line of 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in a 63-43 win over Michigan City. His positional size and strength, paired with high-level skill, is so impressive to watch.

South Bend Riley scored just 12 points in the first half on Wednesday night. They surpassed that total in just a couple of minutes in the second half. It was a quick flurry of forced turnovers, layups, and three-point shots that put the Wildcats on top and they never looked back. Jones took over in the second half finished with a double-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Michigan City really struggled to get much going offensively on Wednesday night. However, as the missed shots mounted, Lemons was able to get some offensive rebounds and control the paint for the Wolves. The 6'5" junior forward was very active around the basket showcasing some vertical athleticism and physical strength. He ended up leading Michigan City with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

An Indiana Junior All-Star candidate, Parker got rolling in the second half as South Bend Riley finally removed the lid from the basket and turned an 18-12 deficit into a 58-40 victory. The 5'10" dynamic playmaker scored eight points in third quarter and finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists for the Wildcats who improved to 20-4 on the season and will play Penn on Friday night in the Sectional 3 semifinals.

This 6'8" center is set to be a real stock-riser in the Class of 2027. Price is solidifying himself as one of the top big men in northern Indiana and certainly put another feather in his cap on Wednesday night. He was active and explosive from the dunker's spot, was strong on the glass, and showed some rim protection capabilities as well. Price finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Penn in their 63-43 win over Michigan City.

Neither team could make a bucket to begin this one, but then South Bend Riley got hot in the second half and LaPorte simply couldn't keep up. The Slicers ended up losing 58-40. Tonagel, a Taylor University signee, finished with a team-high 12 points and 7 rebounds. His versatility as a 6'5" wing is part of what gives him some intriguing upside for the next level.
