Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2369868' first='Charlie' last='Yellen'] played most of the game, proving himself to be a dependable and valuable underclassman. In his game against the Kaneland Knights, Yellen was active on the boards, finishing with a total of 6 rebounds. I look ahead to seeing how Yellen performs in the state championship. The game is on Saturday against the mighty Flyers and [player_tooltip player_id='1873523' first='Jamison' last='White'].

Sophomore Brian Edwards participated in the team's third-place victory over the Leo Lions. Edwards didn't score any points. Nonetheless, he contributed in the paint with a total of 5 rebounds. He achieved this in just twelve minutes played.

Freshmen Andre Tucker and [player_tooltip player_id='2964028' first='Elon' last='Henderson'], along with sophomore Brandal Orr, all made appearances for the Lions. Tucker's performance was exceptional in the team's second game of the day. They narrowly lost a hard-fought battle to the Kaneland Knights. He finished the game with 10 points, six of which came from beyond the arc. Orr proved to be reliable against the East St. Louis Flyers, contributing 3 points, 2 rebounds, and blocking a shot.

Flyers prospects include Freshman Emaurion Jackson and Sophomore Rashaad Watson. Of all the prospects at the tournament, Jackson stood out the most to me. His court vision was impressive as he easily found passing lanes and zipped the ball to his teammates. Jackson reads plays well, blocks passing lanes on defense, and quickly pushes the ball up the court. He demonstrated his ability to drive and handle the ball. I'd like to see his shooting from range. Rashaad Watson is another promising prospect for the Flyers. You do not have noticed much on the scoreboard, but his strength lies in his playmaking. He's a crafty ball handler with an explosive first step. He uses his quickness to beat defenders or create space for a jumper.

York Dukes

Sophomore Will O'Leary made his appearance in the tournament this year. O'Leary played an active role on the Dukes all Friday. His role increased for the third-place game against the DePaul Rams. His ball-handling skills were highlighted. He was the primary point guard against the Rams. He also appeared more confident driving and taking shots.

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2842573' first='Blake' last='Choice'] was active in both games for the Rams on Friday. Choice seemed to contribute to every scoring play. Most of the Rams are upperclassmen. This year's tournament provided valuable experience for Blake. I expect him to lead his team next year.
