Austin Hoffman is a PG who is typically in the glue guy role, as he understands what is needed from him on the court and tries to fill in the gap. But in their 1st round game, he was the player of the day as he finished with a season-high 18 points. He knocked down 2 3-pointers, got to the FT line, and was aggressive in his efforts, and his teammates found him. He's been coming on as of lat,e and if he's able to continue putting on his best stretch of the season right now in the playoffs, it makes them that much more dangerous. He's a player to watch.

Denver West looks like a juggernaut at the best part of the season to look alive. They're scoring with ease, their guard play, and pace is up there with the best in the state, and they're blowing teams out right now. They're fresh off a blowout win against Delta, and now are up against a deep Prospect Ridge Academy and the biggest question of the game is which guards step up in this one? A player I expect to have their way and be the difference in this one is Cowans. Cowans can break a defender down in iso, read the pick and roll, and feed the big, and what makes him most dangerous is his ability to score in bunches. Once he gets going, he's hitting deep 3's, getting out in transition, and turning defense to offense. This will be a fun game to watch, and I feel that Cowans might be the player who stands out most in it.

Lamar has been on a mission all season long, and the No.4 seed is coming off a win against a pesky Jefferson Academy in the 1st round and faces off against a Fort Lupton team that's just as battle-tested. Who brings the most energy and executes will be who wins the game, and the player who I feel has a monster game is 6'6 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2707814' first='Alexander' last='Williams']. WIlliams is averaging 13.5 points and 8.1 rebounds on the season and has been very aggressive on the block. He hasn't been settling for 3 pointers, he gets boards and goes straight up, runs the break for easy finishes, and uses his length and size to his advantage. He should have opportunity for a face-up game and put up big numbers to keep the season alive.

The backcourt duo of Mylz Palmer and [player_tooltip player_id='1764303' first='Javon' last='Gonzales'] has been one of the most underrated duos in the state, and it seems that everyone is finally starting to catch on. Gonzales has been on a tear this season as he's putting up over 18 points a game, and in his recent stretch, the ball has been finding him more as he leads the way. Gonzales is a three-level scorer who reads the floor well, has good timing and pace to his game, and he takes what's given to him. He's probing and looking to make plans happen while also feeding teammates when lanes open up. He's averaging 6.6 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and also has over 4 steals a game, and that's led to some easy scoring opportunities for him and teammates, but now they'll face off against a team that can match that, so it will be on him to be decisive with the ball, trust in teammates but take over. I believe he'll have a big game and do whatever in his power to keep the season alive. He's a player who has earned respect along the way, and his team will look for him to keep pushing to stay dancing. Big game incoming.

Burks has turned heads along the way as he's been a two-way menace, and now he has his team pushing for a state championship behind his play. Burks forms a 1-2 punch that can battle with any team in the state and has been filling it up this season, which has them looking like contenders. He's putting up 15.8 points a game as a downhill attacker who gets to his spots, attacks mismatches, and finishes well around the basket. He is also the team's best on-ball defender, and that's where he'll certainly need to stand out in this game as a guy who can speed you up. Eagle Ridge Academy will have its hands full as it's up against a loaded Timnath squad, but Burks gives them a chance with the way that he's been playing lately. I'm sure his teammates will welcome his best game of the season in this one.
