Our top performer from Friday night, the fearless lefty lead his team to a historic victory. Not only leading his Benson squad to the Elite 8 for the first time at the 6A level, he also sparked the first ever victory for a 16 seed over a number one seed in 6A history.

The 6'2 wing was in attack mode all night on his way to a game high 25 points. No points bigger than his last three, where he dribble the length of the court & hit a pull up three pointer from the top of the key to send the Astros to the Chiles Center.

The versatile senior guard, did it all for the Rams as they pulled away from South Salem in a high scoring affair. Paschal tallied the rare high school triple double with 13 points, 10 rebounds, & 13 assists to lead Central back to the Chiles Center, where they have their eyes set on winning their 2nd state title in three years.

The only other lower seed to advance to the final 8 was the Grant Generals, who knocked off #7 see Lake Oswego in a battle of Grant's youthful talent & Lake O's veteran experience. In the end, the play of Mason & company was too much for the Lakers. Mason lead the effort scored 27 to lead the Generals to the mild upset. Grant advances to take on Central Catholic in a match up loaded with athletic wing players.

The junior sharp shooter, lead a rally down 4 in the closing seconds of overtime, closing things with a steal & a deep three pointer for the winning margin. Barhoum scored a game high 26 as the Cavs knocked off their cross town rival Nelson to advance to the quarterfinals since Covid cancelled the 2020 state tournament.

Normally when you score 31 points & lead your team to a convincing victory, you garner a little more attention. Lake has set the bar pretty high for himself & lived up to that on Friday. The senior combo guard scored from all over the court as the Timberwolves cruised to the victory over Gresham.
