A balanced attack lead by the play of senior forward Kurt Pederson, secured the victory over defending state champion Baker. Pederson had the rare playoff triple double, tallying 11 points, 11 rebounds, & 10 assists.

The talented Gray flies a little under the radar down in Eugene, but had a huge first half to help secure an easy victory for his team on their way to the state quarterfinals. Gray scored 18 of his 21 points in the 1st half as the Highlanders cruised from there.

For our money, Lawson might be one of the more under appreciated players in the state. A tough point guard who regularly makes winning plays. He did just that in a play off win over Crescent Valley to set up a rematch with Parkrose, who most consider to be the favorite to win the 5A title.

When teams move up a classification, there is usually an adjustment period to playing against bigger schools & tougher competition. That hasn't been the case for the Cowboys who made the jump to 5A this year, won a league title, & secured the overall #1 seed in the state playoffs. The man driving that success all year has been the 6'9 Lowenbach, a unicorn of an offensive player for his size. He scored 24 points to knock off Lebanon & set up a quarterfinal match up with Crater who knocked off Wilsonville to punch their ticket to Linfield.
