As we discussed before, the class of 2027 in Houston is considered probably the best high school class right now that we have been able to watch recently. The reason this class is so favored is because it possesses a good mix of guards, wings, and posts that can all and should all draw college interest from multiple levels. I, for one, am a huge fan of the prospects that this year has because of my experienced with being able to evaluate and scout them on the big stages, such as AAU live periods and crucial playoff games. Here are some of the wing/post players who are already getting some college attention and some of them have been recruited by high level D1 programs as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2252157' first='Isaiah' last='Santos'] is one of the bigger and more aggressive wings who attacks the basket with ferociousness. He can handle the ball like a guard, rebound like a big, and get downhill like a wing. He is a good 3 level bucket getter who functions as one of the main scorers for Seven Lakes and he consistently puts up double-digits in multiple categories per game. It is easy to see why Santos is considered as a D1 prospect with offers from Houston, UTEP, Sam Houston, and UTSA. He recently got an offer from SFA as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2554957' first='Malik' last='Parrish'] is a long and lengthy prospect who makes winning plays on both sides of the ball and displays good court awareness. He currently holds D1 offers from SMU, TCU, and UTEP. He had several standout performances over the summer playing for JL3 Elite and he displays a wide range of skills on offense, finishing at the basket and rotating well on defense. Playing on New Wave Academy, Malik is a problem for opposing matchups in the post and on the perimeter and continues to make a name for himself in Houston as a high-level prospect.

Troynelle Belle out of Dickinson HS is one of the most versatile forwards in the 2027 class not just in Houston, but in the entire state of Texas. Belle has great off ball movement and knows how to position himself perfectly to get baskets against mismatches in the post, as well as shoot the three-point shot with good efficiency. He possesses great footwork in the post as well as being able to handle the ball in transition and get stops on defense, able to guard positions 1 through 5. Belle has really made his mark on me since last summer and is flashing high collegiate potential. Look for him to continue his hot momentum play into this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560932' first='Landon' last='Veal'] has been one of the biggest stock risers this year in the 2027 class playing for Houston Christian. He efficiently rebounds at a high rate under the basket, and he presents a scoring threat from everywhere on the floor as he can convert both in the paint and on the perimeter. Landon has a good motor and can finish off alley-oops or effective post moves at the rim. He shoots free throws well at the line and is constantly a threat to score on offense and alter shots on defense.
