Time to jump into the film room to break down prospects in the 2028 and 2029 classes who deserve to be highlighted for their play this season!

[player_tooltip player_id='2766519' first='Ryder' last='Wettig'] (Trico – 2028)

Wettig is a 6'4” strong and skilled wing that is averaging 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists as a sophomore. Shooting 43% from beyond the arc. Strong bodied wing with plus athleticism. What we love about him is his versatility being able to impact in a number of areas which his stats show. Clean shot maker off the catch and pulling up. Cuts well off the ball to get open going to the hoop or for threes. Skilled passer making good reads off live dribbles. Physical wing rebounder who is a solid athlete that blocks shots on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369882' first='Vinny' last='Corrado'] (St. Viator – 2028)

The sophomore 6'7” big man is an intriguing sophomore post. Strong frame and is a solid athlete running the floor and swatting shots. Flashes as a shooter knocking in spot up threes on occasion. Touch and feel scoring around the basket through and around contact. Quick second jump on the glass. Finishes out of the dunker spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='2395586' first='Amir' last='Beasley'] (Danville – 2028)

Beasley is among the top power forwards in the class. Long and lanky frame with fluid athleticism. Beast in the open floor handling it weaving through defenders for scores in the paint. Upside is insane here!

[player_tooltip player_id='2538631' first='Grant' last='Smith'] (Lyons – 2028)

Smith is among the better wings in the 2028 class. As a sophomore he is averaging 17 points and 7 rebounds a game for Lyons. Super bouncy prospect with size on the wing. Brings big time shot making spotting up from the perimeter along with being able to slash, play in the open floor, and use his quickness on the glass. Gets downhill and explodes off two feet in the paint. Brings a lot of versatility to the table as future D1 prospect!

[player_tooltip player_id='2751064' first='Cesaire' last='Bile'] (Galesburg – 2028)

This 6'4” wing is one to watch with his long and lanky frame. Capable shooter spotting up from beyond the arc with a free and easy release. Length plays well on the defensive end. Active as a two way prospect that can finish on dump off passes along with in transition. Three and D wing to track!

Elijah Schweitzer (Rochelle – 2028)

Sophomore 6'5” 220 pound post who is also a legit football prospect. Low post big man that is active on the defensive end and glass. Has some athletic pop along with touch around the hoop with hook shots along with solid footwork. Can face up taking it off the bounce. Clean release from three showcasing spot up potential.

William Mack (CICS Northtown Academy – 2028)

Scoring point guard that is quick and shifty with the ball in his hands. This allows him to get in the paint making difficult shots along with getting to the foul line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2906299' first='Jackson' last='Wood'] (Kankakee Trinity Academy – 2028)

Wood is a 6'3” two guard from a high school I honestly had never heard of in Trinity Christian. Guard with good size and strength that gets in the paint being able to finish along with kick to shooters. Solid looking jumper with a bit of a slow release spotting up, but pours them in at a super high clip. Overpowers weaker opponents on straight line takes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2403463' first='Verton' last='Freeman'] (Grayslake Central – 2029)

Freeman is a 6'1” freshman guard who does a ton of damage in transition. Good finisher in fastbreak situations. Acrobatic finisher at the rim.

Jaeden Austin (Eisenhower – 2029)

The 6'0” freshman guard loves to let it fly from deep. Clean looking shot mechanically from beyond the arc. Moves well off the ball. Name to watch going forward.

Carter Jackson (Pleasant Plains – 2029)

Jackson is a 5'9” freshman point guard who runs the Pleasant Plains offense. He can knock down shots from beyond the arc with deep range on his shot. Moves well without the ball in his hands to get open.
