<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><a><em>***Use Code “ScottyB30” for 30% off your annual subscription***</em></a></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We were at the Pinckneyville Panthers Showcase over the weekend and it was a fun day of hoops!&nbsp; Time to dive into the players that caught our attention today looking at the 2028 and 2029 prospects!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2751256' first='Archie' last='Goewey'] (Centralia – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Goewey continues to impress as the Orphans small forward had 17 points in a win over Waltonville.&nbsp; Well-built small forward that has a clean looking shot from distance, cuts off the ball, and can post up.&nbsp; Living up to his billing as a top 20 prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2826261' first='Kenny' last='Bratton'] (Centralia – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bratton has taken his hoops game to new heights this season.&nbsp; Always been a freak athlete, but his handles have really improved which was shown putting it on the deck for a sweeping take to open the game.&nbsp; Got on the offensive glass, played above the rim with multiple dunks, and was impactful defensively as he had 8 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2389804' first='Lucas' last='Thompson'] (Triad – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Thompson is a skilled small forward with a solid frame.&nbsp; Can handle it playing with the ball in his hands along with being an effective spot up shooter at 6'6”.&nbsp; Showed he could pass it off live dribbles making sound reads as he had 10 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2873383' first='Christian' last='Swalley'] (Greenville – 2028)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Liked what Swalley brought as a 6'1” shooting guard with some projection.&nbsp; Plus athlete that can really shoot it off the catch.&nbsp; Was at his best off movement looking for his shot.&nbsp; Made four of them from beyond the arc en route to 18 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Trey Branch (Centralia – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Branch is a young freshman point guard that for the second event in a row showed promise.&nbsp; Multiple sweet passes on a bullet dime through traffic along with lob pass.&nbsp; Creative finisher at the cup who also is a switchable defender on the defensive end as he had 4 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2871705' first='Brayden' last='Watson'] (Mascoutah – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Watson is a name we had heard about, but got our first look at as the 6'5” forward has a good frame and length.&nbsp; The bounce and quickness around the hoop is what stood out to us.&nbsp; Freshman is a very good rebounder and solid defender including swatting a shot.&nbsp; Runs the floor hard and got to the line at a nice clip where he hit at a good rate.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2916484' first='Taevon' last='Petty'] (Greenville – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Petty flashed some long term developmental upside with his 6'2” frame and length.&nbsp; Was effective on the glass snatching rebounds and pushed in the open floor on a coast to coast take for a finish.&nbsp; Work to do, but upside is there.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Majok Ater (Principia – 2029)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Long and thin 6'9” center definitely showed flashes in their win in the last game of the event.&nbsp; Finished extremely well out of the dunker spot.&nbsp; Quickness off the floor and played to his strength.&nbsp; Lot of room to grow physically and skill wise, but he has plenty of time and a bright future.&nbsp; Notched 6 points.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
