We were at the Pinckneyville Panthers Showcase over the weekend and it was a fun day of hoops! Time to dive into the players that caught our attention today looking at the 2027 prospects!

Micah Griffo (Mascoutah – 2027)

Griffo lit up the nets in the gym in a big time showing for Mascoutah getting MVP of their win over Carbondale as he recorded 28 points and they needed every single one of them. Poured in feathery threes one after another including off movement. Drained five in total. The 6'2” guard can play both on and off the ball with good length. Mixed in a reverse layup and soft touch finish. Definitely a name to remember down the line!

[player_tooltip player_id='2334910' first='Sekou' last='Cisse'] (Principia – 2027)

Cisse is a five man with good strength and plus athleticism. Automatic when in pick/rolls as a finisher throwing down lobs and dunks. Rebounds super well in traffic and is an intimidating presence on the defensive end. He had 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2334905' first='Gassim' last='Toure'] (Principia – 2027)

Toure is an athletic well built wing that is a three and D guy with more in his bag that is developing. Sound spot up shooter and defends multiple positions at a high level! Dropped 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2377735' first='Kingston' last='Money'] (Principia – 2027)

Money was fantastic once again for the top team in Missouri. The 6'3” wing poured in mid-range jumpers with a feathery shot all game long. Also showed he could get downhill finishing and getting to the line to the tune of 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2385164' first='Cash' last='Brooks'] (Murphysboro – 2027)

Broos is a 6'2” junior combo guard that can play both on and off the ball. Showed creative handles, solid feel for the game, and made a three en route to 9 points.

Justin Schrage (Triad – 2027)

Schrage had a breakout game in a 15 point outing against Freeburg. The 6'3” well built wing was effective scoring from multiple levels in the win. Hit a three, tough finishes through contact inside with his strength, and ran the floor hard. Has some defensive upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='2825695' first='Brady' last='Kerr'] (Freeburg – 2027)

Shooting guard from Freeburg had a solid outing with 11 points. Good athlete that won on drives with crafty finishes in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2384747' first='Witten' last='Devor'] (Waltonville – 2027)

Devor lit up the nets in their loss against Centralia. The thick and compact lead guard banged in five from beyond the arc in the win hitting multiple heat checks. Also mixed in some tough turnarounds in the mid-range as well. Competitive kid that had 25 points in the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125643' first='Jaxson' last='Hancock'] (Centralia – 2027)

Orphans point guard is a high IQ guard that makes great decisions with the ball as a passer running their offense. He has some scoring pop too showing burst to the rim scoring and getting to the line. Also hit a three for 12 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2455403' first='David' last='Barnes'] (Mt. Vernon – 2027)

Barnes is a junk yard dog wing/undersized big that brings a high level of intensity and motor to the game. Despite his team being overwhelmed by Principia he never backed down. Spin moves in the post, tough finishes through contact, transition takes, bully ball off the bounce, and getting on the offensive glass. Not much of a shooter, but did hit one mid-range jumper off a shot fake netting 22 points.

Owen Gruen (Fairfield – 2027)

The 6'5” forward for Fairfield did most of his damage in the paint. Well built kid that slashed, euro steps for left handed buckets, give/go layups, and got to the line for 11 points.
