<p>Saturday Feb 7, PH NorCal was at Alameda High for a non-league contest between San Lorenzo from the West Alameda-Shoreline 16-9, 9-0 at Alameda High from the West Alameda-Foothill 14-10, 6-2. From the start San Lorenzo was the aggressor showing speed, defending with intensity, after the first qtr led 17-14. San Lorenzo kept up it's defensive pressure for a 34-18 half-time lead. By the end of the 3rd 59-30 it was apparent that speed and defense was going to lead the Grizzlies to a 73-52 victory. Here are the standouts in this game</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2471762' first='Ronnie' last='Selleaze']: A rising guard in NorCal can take his game to a higher level. At 6'3 he's got work to do. The do it all guard has settled in with his new team after a early season sit. He's averaging 25pts, 10 rebs in 16 games according to (Stat). They move him around, he makes good use of his body and dribble, bumping defenders, staying on balance and getting his paint points.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='3038187' first='Kingsley' last='Eneh']: Plays a good all around game. At 6'4 he's showing he can do things away from the basket at this level. His ball handling passing are improved since the last time we saw him. He pushed, passed up, finished in transition. He's getting 4 rebounds a game. He's getting paint points, hitting short jumpers on the side. 11pts a game.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='3038188' first='Ronald' last='Goatley']: The Sr. Guard can effect the game on both ends of the court. He has quick hands for steals, and feet to trap and disrupt the flow of offense. He'll use his speed, quick dribbling moves crossovers, and more to get by defenders, including a euro to avoid charges. He can spot up and drop 3's from the corners, coming down in transition. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='3490953' first='Samuel' last='Skolnick']: The 6'4 Sr, F/W. A newcomer got off to a good start. He played well passing and cutting to the basket finishing with free throws. He was an active rebounder finishing with 6. He squared up in the corners for catch 3's, when he wasn't finishing around the basket. He led the team in scoring with 19pts.</p>

<p>River Stautzenberger: The Sr. guard did most of the ball handling up top, he kept his dribble live, showed patience setting the offense. He had good vision finding multiple players cutting to the basket. He showed he could get into the paint with drive spin moves, for kick-outs, or dump offs.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='3490958' first='Dylan' last='Mann']: An experienced Sr. combo guard. He helped with the team rebounding, kept it pushing the ball up court fast. He has court vision to see his mates for long passes up court. He ran some point guard finding cutters to the basket, feeding the post. He used his foot speed and quick hands to get a couple of steals, then race up court for the layup. He drove the paint, drew fouls to get to the free throw line. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='3490956' first='Jerry' last='Opulencia']: The last time we saw Opulencia he had just finished football. He's improved his productivity on the court. He gives this team a legitimate 6'7 body heading into post season play. He's not a stat stuffer, but played with effort on the defensive side, got his share of rebounds, and put backs, went up strong off two in the paint, tried to throw a few down. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='2737140' first='Toby' last='Merchant']: The Sophomore combo guard brings a balanced approach to the game. A good defender, can stay with ball handlers, arms away from body to disrupt passing lanes, has lateral movement, good recovery. He's a ball handler, facilitator sees the court to make the pass up, and across court. A solid body, can get into the paint for jumpers, and assists. Rebounds from the guard position. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='3038295' first='Justin' last='Whitaker']: He's 6'2 got plenty of hops, has good activity around the basket. He's still polishing his overall offensive skill set, but does have some tools to work with. He finishes strong around the rim going up strong off two feet, he might throw one down. He's a rebounder with 6 per game, he runs the court for transition layups/dunks. He's defends, goes after blocks. </p>

A good ball handler, keeps his dribble live, looks to steady the offense up top. He's a ball mover sees the court, gets the ball where it needs to go. He has a few moves to get into the paint. </p>
