Region 4: Standouts Season from the Perimeter

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> No matter the position, role, or volume of three-point attempts, this isn't a list limited to pure shooters. Instead, it highlights players who consistently pose a threat from behind the arc and are putting together strong seasons shooting it from deep. For some, the three-point shot is a primary weapon; for others, it's a second or third option within the flow of the offense. Either way, their production from downtown has made an impact. Here's a look at some of the most impressive perimeter seasons in the Fourth Region: </blockquote>    Connor Holder is 61-for-188 from beyond the arc this season, averaging 2.7 three-pointers per game. He put his shooting on display in a recent matchup against Warren East, scoring 21 points while going 6-for-11 from deep. Holder showed confidence in his shot with a strong follow-through, demonstrated range from anywhere behind the arc, and moved well without the ball, using screens—especially to the corner—to find open looks.     [player_tooltip player_id='2381913' first='Maddox' last='Shearer'] ranks among the state's top players in three-pointers per game at 2.8, shooting 39% from deep with 62 makes on 159 attempts. Shearer is a high-level perimeter threat, and his playmaking ability only amplifies his impact, forcing defenses to account for him at all times. He can heat up quickly and has delivered several strong individual performances this season, including a 28-point outing against Southwestern in January where he went 4-for-8 from beyond the arc.     Jerius Coleman is 56-for-165 from beyond the arc this season, averaging 2.4 three-pointers per game. He has multiple six-three performances on the year, along with several four-make outings. Coleman went 6-for-9 from deep against Todd County Central on Jan. 23, 6-for-12 versus Franklin-Simpson on Jan. 16, and 6-for-10 against Trigg County on Dec. 16. A left-handed shooter, Coleman is comfortable letting it fly in any situation and from anywhere behind the three-point line.     [player_tooltip player_id='2876775' first='Ethan' last='York'] is shooting 37.8% from beyond the arc this season, knocking down 48 of his 127 attempts while averaging 2.1 three-pointers per game. York shoots with a high release and has been effective from the corner. He shows good wrist action and stays shot-ready with his hands up, prepared to catch and fire. His mechanics are consistent and repeatable, rising straight up and down and landing in the same spot on each jumper, which adds to his reliability from deep.     [player_tooltip player_id='2954078' first='Brison' last='Nuckols'] is shooting an efficient 41.1% from three this season (39-for-95), averaging 2.1 makes per game. He features a quick, consistent release with good elevation, allowing him to knock down contested looks. Nuckols' mechanics are repeatable, with solid shooting-hand motion through and after release, and his size adds to his effectiveness on the perimeter. He thrives in catch-and-shoot situations and is a threat from anywhere behind the arc, able to relocate quickly and get his shot off.     Karaun Johnson hasn't attempted as many threes as some others, but he's been highly efficient, shooting 41.8% from deep (28-for-67) while averaging 1.9 makes per game. He's had multiple strong shooting performances this season, including four three-pointers against Greenwood on Jan. 16 and a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the arc against Central Hardin on Jan. 13, along with several other four-three games. Johnson also shows deep range, making him a threat well beyond the line.     Braylon Anderson is shooting 39.7% from three this season (56-for-141), averaging 2.3 makes per game. He's especially effective from the wing and is comfortable coming off screens to catch and shoot. Anderson also has a quick pull-up jumper off the dribble and can score from the top of the key, extending his range a few feet beyond the arc when needed.
