X-Factor: [player_tooltip player_id='2983284' first='Braxton' last='Ferguson'], Bell County - Bell County is right there with North Laurel when discussing who will win the region. I went back and forth before choosing North as my regional champion. Bell County just beat North Laurel in OT on Valentine's Day. For Bell to make it to Rupp Arena, Ferguson, one of the state's top freshmen, will need to repeat his performance from the win over North when he had 17 points on 7-13 shooting. Braxton is one of the top young athletes in the region and if he can use his speed and agility to attack the rim and apply pressure on the defense, Bell County can win definitely win the region.

Most likely regional champion: North Laurel

Most likely regional tournament MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1558733' first='Reece' last='Davidson'], North Laurel

Owsley County

X-Factor: [player_tooltip player_id='2360951' first='Conner' last='Morguson'], Powell County - Morguson is one of the most prolific scorers in the region as a Sophomore but he really struggled when the Pirates played Hazard. Conner only had 11 points (on 13 shots) but he had 29 points in an earlier win over Perry County Central and 26 points in a win over Knott County Central early in the year. If Conner is more like the player he was against KCC and PCC, Powell can absolutely win the region and get to Rupp Arena. The region is probably the most open of any in the state and the hottest team should win it. Powell can be that team, especially if [player_tooltip player_id='2360951' first='Conner' last='Morguson'] is up to the challenge.

Most likely regional champion: Hazard

Most likely regional tournament MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='2388302' first='Seth' last='Caudill'], Hazard
