I was way off on White County who won just one of their first seven district games this season! With <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='3281426' first='Tucker' last='Pinion'] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2448350' first='Cole' last='Sims']</strong>, the hope was that White County could win a lot of 3A basketball games. And they did start the year 14-2, but then district play opened and the team could not score consistently. White County's team shoots 62% from the free throw line. They are fourth instead of the projected second place. Worse, they are only a single game ahead of the winless Livingston Academy. Upperman at #1 was prescient at long last. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Player of the Year</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2133810' first='Ty' last='Cobb'], Upperman: </strong>February fourth, [player_tooltip player_id='2133810' first='Ty' last='Cobb'] scored Upperman's first 9 points. The difference between 2026 Cobb from 2025 Cobb is strength. [player_tooltip player_id='2133810' first='Ty' last='Cobb'] is better at finishing after contact than he could last season. He was always acrobatic and poised in the lane, but he is more capable completing the first part of and-1's.
