2028 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2523928' first='Vasaun' last='Wilmington'] (North Scott) -- 40 points (13-20 FG, 7-12 3P, 7-8 FT), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block [vs. Assumption]

Wilmington has firmly established himself as one of the top players in the state's 2028 class, and he didn't need this 40-point outburst to do so, but it certainly doesn't hurt either. A highly skilled lead guard who is among the top ball-handlers in the state, it's usually his ability to create for his teammates and use his handles and speed to put pressure on opposing teams that is on display, and that was the case here too, but he also buried seven 3-pointers in this outburst. If his perimeter shot is falling, and he has really improved in that area, good luck trying to stop him.

2028 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2772348' first='Chase' last='Perrin'] (Dallas Center-Grimes) -- 33 points (10-15 FG, 9-14 3P, 4-4 FT), 2 rebounds [vs. Indianola]

Not to be outdone by Wilmington, Perrin poured in nine 3-pointers in the Mustangs 10-point win over Indianola last week, setting a new school record for 3-pointers in a game. A true sniper from distance, Perrin moves exceptionally well without the ball in his hands and is a great shooter off the catch.

2028 SG [player_tooltip player_id='3219507' first='David' last='Flores'] (Sioux City North) -- 30 points (11-18 FG, 5-7 3P, 3-4 FT), 2 rebounds, 3 steals [vs. Sergeant Bluff-Luton]

The Stars have won just two games this season, but Flores has been a nice bright spot for them and should give them some hope for the future. The talented guard dropped 30 points in the loss to SBL, showing that he can score from anywhere on the floor.

2027 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2419808' first='George' last='Blake'] (Indianola) -- 29 points (10-13 FG, 1-2 3P, 8-9 FT), 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal [at Newton]

The Indians needed every one of those highly efficient 29 points last week in a 54-51 win over Newton. The 6-4 wing is having a really nice season for Indianola, and while this game was exceptional, it's nothing new for the talented junior.

2027 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2617477' first='Braylin' last='De Jager'] (Council Bluffs Lincoln) -- 26 points (8-12 FG, 5-7 3P, 5-6 F), 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 steals [at Council Bluffs Jefferson]

The Yellow Jackets were completely overmatched in this one, and De Jager took full advantage, dropping 26 points on 67% shooting, and stuffing the stat sheet in a multitude of ways. A talented point guard who is generally more known for his distributing, he showed that he can also be a reliable scorer here.

2027 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2443978' first='Alfred' last='Kolee'] (Dowling Catholic) -- 25 points (12-13 FG, 1-2 3P, 12 rebounds (9 offensive), 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block [vs. Ankeny]

If the Maroons are truly going to reach their potential this year, Kolee could be the X-factor for them. An athletic 6-7 forward who can do a little bit of everything, he had his most dominant high school game against the Hawks, missing just one shot and controlling the glass, especially on the offensive end. He gives Dowling another dimension with his size, length, and athleticism.

2027 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2164515' first='Jaxson' last='Bean'] (Kennedy) -- 25 points (6-15 FG, 4-9 3P, 9-10 FT), 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal [at Linn-Mar]

Kennedy is starting to play some really good ball over the last month or so, and Bean is a major reason why. The most experienced player on the Cougars roster, he has stepped up and become a reliable scorer and playmaker for this group, as he showed against the Lions last week with 25 points and 7 helpers.

2027 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2419846' first='Nicare' last='Cavil'] (Johnston) -- 16 points (6-12 FG, 2-5 3P, 2-2 FT), 9 assists, 4 steals [vs. Norwalk]

Now that they're healthy, if you're looking for a potential sleeper team to make some noise in 4A, look at Johnston. Cavil was fantastic in the Crossover Classic win over Norwalk, coming up just one assist shy of a double-double. A lightning-quick guard who puts constant pressure on opposing teams with his speed, vision, and handles, he was in complete command of the game against the Warriors.
