The first annual Big Red Box Holiday Invitational concluded on Wednesday, December 31st, at Irmo High School. Prep Hoops SC was in attendance for all four placement games, resulting in Irmo taking home the Championship with a win over Westside, Abraham Lincoln (NY) topping Catawba Ridge for third place, Spring Valley prevailing over Lugoff-Elgin for fifth place, and Lakewood rallying a comeback to beat Columbia for seventh place. Check out this list of five prospects who stepped up on day three of the Big Red Box Holiday Invitational:

First up on my list of players who stepped up on day three of the Big Red Box Holiday Invitational is the Tournament Most Valuable Player, [player_tooltip player_id='2908504' first='Christian' last='Brown']. Brown averaged 17 Points Per Game across the three games this week, including an 18-point game yesterday in the Championship. Christian knocked down three threes in that game, including two off an excellent shot fake, which is deadly against teams that know how good a shooter he is. He also has a couple of nice buckets inside as well, but the difference between Brown being a good player and a great player will be how he can make plays for others, which he flashed with some nice reads in the pick-and-roll.

Simply put, the Yellow Jackets don't win this game without White on the floor. He was everywhere for them, playing well beyond his age on both ends of the floor. Khiry was a pest on the offensive glass, hauling in 7 boards and turning them into 8 second-chance points. White also made highlight plays above the rim on both ends of the floor, including two blocks and two dunks. The second of the two dunks was a designed lob off a baseline-out-of-bounds set, something Irmo might look to use often because of long and athletic White is.

[player_tooltip player_id='2377456' first='Kensley' last='Parks'] chipped in with a nice 11-point, 4-rebound performance in Spring Valley's win over region foe Lugoff-Elgin on day three. He is a well-rounded offensive player who can battle through physicality, handle it enough to get to the rim, run the floor in transition, work in the pick-and-roll, and catch-and-shoot on the perimeter. The Vikings have tons of size and interior-minded players, so Kensley's ability to play inside-out is crucial to the spacing of their offense.

Preston was a bright spot in Catawba Ridge's loss to Abraham Lincoln (NY) in the 3rd-Place Game. He flashed his long-term potential as an elite scorer with 11 quick points in the second quarter. Heffner is at his best when looking to get to the rim, and he just has a knack for beating defenders off the dribble and finishing around bodies. Preston also showed some craft in scoring in transition and knocked down a catch-and-shoot three, the latter being a huge piece in his outlook as a college prospect. Keep an eye out for this Sophomore to have a solid region season for the Copperheads.

Rounding out my list of players who stepped up on day three of the Big Red Box Holiday Invitational is Jakari Allen. Allen and the Lakewood Gators were up first on Wednesday Morning, battling it out with Columbia in the 7th-place Game. Jakari's back-to-the-basket prowess was on display in this one, frequently catching the ball with good positioning in the paint and finishing close to the rim. Although he isn't overly athletic or fast, Allen has excellent footwork and is very hard to stop when he puts his head down and gets to his right hand. Jakari put up 14 points and 12 rebounds in the final game while earning All-Tournament honors.
