What junior glue guys made an impact over the holidays? During a nine day period I covered games from Jacobs, Elgin, Wheeling, Hinsdale Central, Jack Tosh, Collinsville, Pekin, Duster-Thomas, and Pontiac. These are from those events!

David Udoiwood (Geneva – 2027)

Udoiwood played a key role in their win in the opening round. Does a little bit of everything with his passing, capabilities as a shooter, and athleticism. He had 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125596' first='Charles' last='Schlicht'] (Grant – 2027)

Like the toughness and overall well rounded game this junior brought to the table. Solid rebounder, active defender, and capable shooter. Nose for the ball. He had 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2403910' first='Logan' last='Wessel'] (Mt. Carmel – 2026)

Big second half in the Caravan's opening round win at Pekin. The wing has good positional size and can shoot it off the catch from three. Attacks in transition and is a good free throw shooter as he had 18 points. In the championship game he had another nice outing with 13 points.

Jake Nawrot (Hersey – 2027)

Most of the focus is going to be on Luxem and Pomis for Hersey, but Nawrot is so important to their success. The fast rising 2027 quarterback is a utility big man on the hardwood. Can deck it from the mid-post, run the floor, and finish out of the dunker spot as he had 16 points while also doing a nice job on the glass in the game we saw.

Graham Schwab (Oswego – 2027)

This is the definition of a glue guy when you look it up in the dictionary! He is all over the place making plays! Schwab did just that in their first round loss as he had 21 points off his pure energy and motor! Whenever a play needed to be made he was there. Put backs, loose balls, steals, etc.

[player_tooltip player_id='2829810' first='Miles' last='Burnison'] (York – 2027)

Like what we saw from this junior small forward as a connective piece who can get on the glass and deck it from the mid-post.

[player_tooltip player_id='2425956' first='Perry' last='Tchiegne'] (Benet – 2027)

This is what you call a top prospect that is in a glue guy role. Tchienge is a scholarship level player in the 2027 class, but with so many stars at Benet he utilizes his versatility to step in wherever he is needed. Plus passer, really defends, and is a slick ball handler.
