The 8th annual SL24 Classic was the best one yet. In addition to raising month for a great cause, the event featured some great performances from a variety of players. Here are a few of the upperclassmen:

[player_tooltip player_id='2352452' first='Josh' last='Obiora'] | 6'7 W/F 2026 St. Georges

A star in Delaware but a hidden gem nationally, Obiora asserted his dominance immediately by controlling the glass and putting a lid on the rim. In the process of sending several shots flying out of bounds, he limited Smyrna to just two layups in the halfcourt. On top of his second chance points, Obiora knocked down a pair of jumpers and slashed through the defense off the bounce, drawing several fouls in the process. His 17 points, 13 boards, 1 steal, and 5 blocks tipped the scale in the Hawks' favor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2375188' first='Logan' last='Shaw'] | 6'4 W 2026 Smyrna

With four triples, Shaw brought the heat on both ends of the floor against St. Georges. He connected on a couple three-point jumpers in the first half, as well as a pull-up two. But with the Eagles down 15 at half, Shaw had to raise the intensity on defense; and he did so as a secondary rim protector. Not known as a shot-blocker, he contested several attempts in the paint, on top of hitting another three on a pick-and-pop to cut the lead in half. Finally, Shaw forced a turnover and pump-faked to a fourth three to finish with 18 points, 5 boards, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2473347' first='Vinny' last='Starr'] | 5'9 G 2026 Conrad

Starr shined bright and did so efficiently versus Odessa. The Red Wolves' combo guard moved off-ball and played off the catch exceptionally well, cutting and attacking tilted defenses to get to the rim for touch shots. Then, when the time was right, he returned the favor to his teammates by hitting them in stride and setting them up to score. Starr peppered in jumpers as well, highlighted by two from college range. The small college prospect tallied 16 points and 4 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2917525' first='Jarvis' last='Watson'] | 6'5 F 2027 Odessa

The junior forward maximized his height and abilities inside when the Ducks faced Conrad. He started slow but really got going in the third quarter by exerting his will on the offensive glass. Recognizing the matchup advantage Watson had, his point guard found him on short rolls and at the dunker spot for easy finishes. Then, Watson turned the heat up even more in the fourth with additional putbacks and finishes through contact. And it didn't show up in the stats, but he clogged the lane defensively and protected the rim. In all, he amassed 23 points, 14 rebounds, and a steal.

[player_tooltip player_id='2920202' first='Dylan' last='Wright'] | 6'0 G 2026 St. Mark's

The prototypical coach's son, Wright co-led the Spartans to victory over DMA – not with any particular skill but – with his feel for the game. He did whatever the moment called for, intercepting a pass and pushing it ahead in transition on one possession, then sneaking past defenders for a putback on the next. His in-between game was smooth too, as evidenced by his mid-range jumpers. Wright put up 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal in the big win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2352451' first='Latrell' last='Wright'] | 5'10 G 2026 Salesianum

On the night when Wright eclipsed 1000 career points, the senior guard shared the wealth with those around him to defeat Sanford. He was a problem in transition, out-running the defense for easy rim attempts. Wright also rewarded his team for hustling with long outlet passes for transition to buckets of their own. His ability to keep defenders on their heels was a constant too. Wright ended the evening with 15 points (4-4 FT), 3 assists, and 1 steal.
