Top Unsigned Seniors in the 804

As we move deeper into the season, there's still a strong group of unsigned seniors in the 804 who continue to prove they belong on college rosters. Whether it's production, physical tools, or impact on winning, these are players college coaches should still be tracking closely. Here are a few names that stand out right now.

[player_tooltip player_id='1782689' first='Faron' last='Friend'] | 6'5 Combo Guard | Glen Allen HS

[player_tooltip player_id='1782689' first='Faron' last='Friend'] has long been regarded as one of the most dangerous scorers in the state, and when he gets rolling, he's tough to slow down. With good length and shot-making ability, he's comfortable shooting over defenders and has the handle and strength to get downhill and finish through contact. While he's known primarily for his scoring, his versatility adds real value — especially on the defensive end, where his size allows him to guard multiple positions. Now the all-time leading scorer at Glen Allen, Friend has consistently shown he can carry a load, and that scoring ability should translate well at the next level.

Ladarius Givan | 6'9 Forward | Petersburg HS

After recently decommitting from Mississippi State, Ladarius Givan quickly becomes one of the most intriguing unsigned prospects still available. His combination of size, motor, and versatility makes him impactful on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he scores efficiently around the rim, can step out and knock down shots, and is especially effective in pick-and-roll situations and in transition. Defensively, he's a strong rim protector who alters shots and plays with physicality. Petersburg's early success — including a national ranking — is no coincidence, and Givan has been a major reason why. He's a player who should make an immediate impact wherever he lands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459212' first='Jamese' last='Jordan'] | 6'9 Center | S3 Academy

[player_tooltip player_id='2459212' first='Jamese' last='Jordan'] has been one of the most dominant bigs in the area for quite some time, and his presence is felt the moment he steps on the floor. He brings a strong, physical frame but moves well for his size and runs the floor hard. In the half court, he's effective with his back to the basket and understands how to play within the offense, especially in ball-screen situations. Defensively, his length and strength make it difficult for opponents to score in the paint, and he does a great job keeping bodies out of the lane. Jordan's size and interior presence alone make him a valuable pickup for a college program.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459361' first='Caleb' last='Straughter'] | 6'6 Wing | Varina HS

[player_tooltip player_id='2459361' first='Caleb' last='Straughter'] is one of the most talented scorers still on the board in the Richmond area. He brings a strong blend of size, athleticism, and scoring versatility, making him effective from all three levels. He's a confident shot creator who can score off the dribble, but he's just as dangerous playing off the ball as a catch-and-shoot threat. While he can knock down the three, his ability to score in the mid-range really stands out, especially when attacking mismatches. Straughter has been a key piece of Varina's success over the past few seasons and would provide immediate offensive value at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347779' first='Nick' last='Byrd'] | 6'0 Point Guard | S3 Academy

It's hard to believe [player_tooltip player_id='2347779' first='Nick' last='Byrd'] is still unsigned, given how complete his game is at the point guard position. He excels at leading a team, consistently getting teammates organized and into their spots. Byrd is elite at reading ball screens, whether it's pulling up in the mid-range or attacking the rim. He's a willing and capable facilitator, but can also take over as a scorer when needed. Defensively, he's one of the better on-ball guards in the area, competing every possession and embracing pressure situations. Byrd plays with poise and toughness, and whichever program lands him will be getting a guard built for the next level.
