Expert Analysis
Jack Herron | Prep Hoops Scout
Friend is an unsigned senior who has been one of the top scorers in the Richmond area over the past few years, and he’s going to put up big numbers whenever he’s on the floor. The 6’5” wing can score it in bunches from all over the floor, he makes difficult shots using his size to elevate over defenders, and he can get downhill and finish around the rim as well.

Creates separation off the bounce to generate his shot and is comfortable operating in two-man actions, using ball screens effectively in the half-court. Possesses good length, though adding strength would help him handle physicality. I like his in-between game and his ability to elude traffic to get to the basket.

remains the top uncommitted player in the state. He is also one of the most accomplished scorers in recent memory.
Friend is the all-time leading scorer at Glen Allen with over 1,600 career points. He averaged more than 24 points per game this season. He can flat-out score from anywhere on the floor. He is one of the most lethal shooters in the class.
Friend uses his length well to score in multiple ways — off the catch, off the bounce, or in transition. While he’s naturally a score-first guard, he impacts winning on both ends and competes defensively.
Programs in need of a proven bucket-getter with experience and production should not overlook him. His résumé speaks for itself.

The senior wing scored 20 points in a win for the Jaguars, who improved to 13–4. Friend brings positional size and length on the perimeter and showed his value as a reliable perimeter shooter with range beyond the arc. He can create his own offense off the bounce, make plays for teammates, and impact the game in multiple ways. Continued strength development should help his game translate well to the college level.

The high scoring (23.6 ppg), lanky guard is having a strong senior season. Friend is a reliable reliable shot maker from deep, can create his own offense off the bounce and is capable of finding open teammates. Continued physical development will be key, but the Glen Allen product projects as a scholarship level college prospect.

Faron was pouring in the points over the weekend for B-Elite AAU. Already coming into the weekend as one of Big Shot’s top scorers over the summer, he capped off the Nationals with a couple of 20+ point games. It was very hard for the defense to deal with his size and speed at the guard spot all weekend. Faron could get to the cup at any time without using much burst or finesse to maneuver by the defense. Just smoothly got to his spots and rose over the contest when necessary. Showed good feel in the midrange area and was able to use his body and control to get inside the paint and finish strong.
