Coaches For The Cure: Senior Standouts

Some of the state's premier programs converged on Petersburg High School on Saturday as Team Loaded hosted the 14th annual Coaches For The Cure event. The showcase brought together elite talent, intense matchups, and plenty of standout individual performances. Here's a look at the top performances from the 2026 class. One of the top available frontcourt prospects in the state, Givan posted a dominant 15-point, 15-rebound double-double in a Saturday night win for the Crimson Wave. The talented big man runs the floor well and changes ends with ease, showing mobility that stands out for his size. He can stretch the defense with his perimeter shooting, rebound his area at a high level, and continues to put together the most productive season of his career. The former Mississippi State commit is once again drawing strong interest from several top programs around the country. The senior wing scored 20 points in a win for the Jaguars, who improved to 13–4. Friend brings positional size and length on the perimeter and showed his value as a reliable perimeter shooter with range beyond the arc. He can create his own offense off the bounce, make plays for teammates, and impact the game in multiple ways. Continued strength development should help his game translate well to the college level. The Arkansas State signee continued his strong senior season at Gillian Academy, scoring 13 points in a hard-fought 58–52 win over S3 Academy. McGee is a true three-level scoring wing and an above-average athlete who can create offense off the bounce and attack gaps in the defense. He impacts the game on both ends, using his length and versatility to guard multiple positions, and continues to show why he projects well at the next level. The unsigned senior poured in 21 points for the Crabbers in a win on Saturday, continuing to show why he is a productive backcourt scorer. Rice combines good quickness with confident perimeter shooting, proving to be a reliable threat from beyond the arc. He plays with a high motor on both ends, staying active defensively and is athletic enough to finish above the rim. Thiam is a wing with good size who consistently puts pressure on the defense with his ability to get downhill and finish at the rim. He rebounds his position well, moves effectively without the ball, and shows versatility on the defensive end with the ability to guard multiple positions. His length, activity level, and two-way impact make him an intriguing prospect on the wing.
