We talked about [player_tooltip player_id='2118474' first='Ethan' last='Martin'] potentially being a top ten Mr. Basketball guy? This week he led his team to two big wins while keeping his team at number one in state.

1AA Belle Plaine vs 8AA Caledonia

Prediction. WRONG. I said Caledonia by a score, it was Belle Plaine by a score. Belle Plaine entered the week as a 5-0 team ranked number one in state. With road games at Marshall and in Rochester I thought the weight of number one might be too much, and Belle Plaine proved they can handle it. And [player_tooltip player_id='2118474' first='Ethan' last='Martin']..... time to talk about Ethan as a Top Ten Mr. Basketball guy.

Martin scored 36 to dominate Marshall and then went on the road and scored 26 to help his team beat Caledonia by a score. He is also getting help from guys like Logan Anderson, [player_tooltip player_id='2792633' first='Caden' last='Koepp'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2848167' first='Mason' last='Manthe'].

2AAA DeLaSalle at 3AAA Richfield

Prediction.WRONG. I picked the Islanders by a basket, and Richfield won by a point. We broke this down in detail at the article linked below!

East Ridge at 1AAA Totino-Grace

Prediction. WRONG. In a 20 point swing! Man.... I said TG by 13, and East Ridge won by seven. And [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] had the game of the season scoring 50 points. FIFTY. It's hard not to think that Tomes, who has his team at 7-2 and has to score in boatloads AND create for his team, isn't the current favorite for Mr. Basketball. Tome is having a special year averaging 33 points a game at a top AAAA school with a tough schedule.

7AA Pequot Lakes vs 8AA Caledonia

Prediction. CORRECT. I said Caledonia by a score, they won 59-55. [player_tooltip player_id='2387331' first='Grant' last='King'] hit six threes and scored 27 points leading the Warriors to a high quality win that will basically have the 7th team in the rankings (PL) and the 8th (Caledonia) switching spots.

1A Cherry vs Blake

Prediction. CORRECT. I said Cherry by two baskets and they won by one basket. What I didn't expect was that [player_tooltip player_id='1601068' first='Noah' last='Asuma'] was going to score 30 points, Calub Brown was going to step up and score 26 for Cherry, and that in a loss.... [player_tooltip player_id='2118459' first='Carson' last='McMichael'] went for 40!

So when your child is counting by tens tonight think [player_tooltip player_id='1601068' first='Noah' last='Asuma'] for 30, [player_tooltip player_id='2118459' first='Carson' last='McMichael'] at 40, and [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] at the number 50!

4AAA Mahtomedi at Byron

Prediction. CORRECT. I said Zephyrs by 12 and they flipped that around and won by 21. Big game from [player_tooltip player_id='2140712' first='Willie' last='Roelofs'] who scored 25 and [player_tooltip player_id='2822863' first='Andrew' last='Russell'] had ten giving Mahtomedi another double figure scorer again (four of them) which is big.

I Saw It On Twitter!

Bombers defeated Upsala 74-66. The Bombers had THREE double-doubles in the win. Junior Dominic Nahl made a name for himself scoring 24 points with 12 boards, he is a 6'4, 225 pound three sport athlete.

Garett Lidke gave Braham 23 points and ten boards, [player_tooltip player_id='2403777' first='Soren' last='Lilly'] had 21 points and 11 assists, and [player_tooltip player_id='2369272' first='Tyler' last='Eklund'] had a dozen assists in that win.

Cannon Falls beat Breck 84-58 and it was [player_tooltip player_id='2385822' first='Brooks' last='Rechtzigel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2569260' first='Miles' last='Rechtzigel'] each scoring 23 points in the win.

Jaxon Bosche broke the Bemidji all time scoring record this weekend so congrats to him on that great accomplishment.

In that same Buffalo vs Bemidji game, [player_tooltip player_id='2397563' first='Thomas' last='Jordan'] remains an all state level player at AAAA despite being a sophomore, as he scored 26 points.

Kirby Wymore scored 31 points for Coon Rapids (hit five triples according to the TC Hoops Czar) in a win over St. Francis,

Upset of the Weekend

St. Croix Prep had won six of their first eight. Hill-Murray had lost seven of their first eight including a double figure loss just the night before. Seemed like an obvious result, right? WRONG.

Junior Olaolowakitan Omoyeni had a team high 18 points (he is a 6'5 junior), 6'2 senior Noah Vanwhychen had 16 points and four assists, and 6'4 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2560501' first='Koa' last='Fuller'] had 12 points and seven boards to get the win!
