The 3rd Annual King's Klassic was held on Saturday, January 17th, at Marion High School. Prep Hoops SC was in attendance for day one, featuring five boys' games and three girls' games. There was some elite young talent on display, but these four sophomores and one freshman are the ones to know based on their performances on Saturday.

It was not a great showing from Rembert and the rest of the Stallions in the first three quarters of a matchup with Cheraw, but he turned it on in the fourth to help bring them back and really display the flashes that make him an exciting prospect. He struggled with foul trouble and had a few turnovers in the first half, then erupted for 13 points on 5-7 FG over the last eight minutes. Sinatra has a solid frame for a young guard, which allows him to play through contact consistently. He will draw charges, block shots, jump passing lanes, get to the rim in transition, and pull up in the mid-range, all as a left-handed guard who has plenty of room for growth.

Ian was one of the most intriguing interior prospects at the 2026 King's Klassic. Playing for the hosts, Gause flashed a little bit of what makes him one of the top youngsters in the Pee Dee area. He put up 13 points and 9 rebounds, including a buzzer-beater to send the game to overtime. He has really shown good progression with his jump shot this season and will always have the length to work the offensive glass and finish at the rim, but if he can add a little bit of strength to hold up defensively and work offensively from the dunker spot, he will be a very good player.

Matching up with Gause in the last game of the day was Williams. This was my first in-person look at Lamont, a player whom I have been eager to see all season long. He is clearly one of the most interesting prospects in the sophomore class because of size and athleticism, but what caught my eye most was his passing ability. Williams always made the right decision as a driver, whether it was to pull up, finish at the rim, or find a teammate, all of which paid off with an overtime win against a very good Marion team. Lamont will have to improve his handle and perimeter shooting down the road, but right now, he is an exceptional talent who racked up 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocks in the win.

One of the best true Point Guards in South Carolina's 2028 Class is [player_tooltip player_id='2456044' first='Anton' last='Daniels']. Daniels displayed just why he is at the top of that conversation in the first half of Atlantic Collegiate's matchup with Fox Creek, as he put up 6 assists with 0 turnovers. He made all the passes needed to get his teammates into the flow of the game - finding shooters, working the pick-and-roll, and getting the ball to his bigs in the paint. Anton was more of a scorer in the second half, finishing with 11 points with a couple of nice finishes at the rim and a mid-range pull-up.

The lone freshman to know from day one of the 3rd Annual King's Klassic is [player_tooltip player_id='2881251' first='O'Bryan' last='Clark']. Clark was impactful when given some second-half run, and could be a wildcard for the Lions down the stretch this season. His top attribute right now is his ability as a catch-and-shoot guard, which poses a different threat than most of their other guards, but he was also eager to move his feet and guard the ball on the defensive end of the floor. O'Bryan finished with 6 points on 2 3PM in Loris' 81-62 win.
