As winter weather rolled through South Carolina, cold temperatures weren't the only thing making headlines. While snow and ice slowed things down across the state, a select group of shooters has stayed warm all season long, consistently knocking down shots and changing games with their perimeter touch. From proven scorers to emerging threats, these are the shooters to know so far this season as they continue to stay warm regardless of the conditions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2851494' first='Ben' last='Reese'] (Chesnee) - Sitting atop the state with 79 made threes through 20 games played is Chesnee's [player_tooltip player_id='2851494' first='Ben' last='Reese']. He has six games with five or more made threes this season: six in a win over Broome, seven in a win over Blacksburg, seven in a win over Woodruff, five in a win over Franklin, seven in a loss to Rabun County, and six in a win over Landrum. Simply put, when Ben has big games, the Eagles win, more often than not. His shooting is crucial around some of the high-level playmakers in the Chesnee offense, and if they are to go out on top with a State Championship, Reese's shooting will be a big reason why.

[player_tooltip player_id='2722119' first='Noah' last='Dodd'] (Landrum) - Noah is another Class AA Region 1 shooter to know. He has taken major steps so far in his sophomore season, improving from 9.7 points per game to 18.3 points per game with five regular-season games to go. One of the big factors in his statistical improvements is his shooting. Dodd makes 3.5 threes per game and is at 41% from behind the arc on the season, solidifying himself as one of the best shooters not only in the 2028 class, but in the entire state. Landrum has a two-game advantage in the final playoff spot in Region 1, so if Noah stays hot, they could be an under-the-radar team to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2810140' first='Grayden' last='Humphries'] (Chapman) - One of the surprise teams of the 2025-26 season are the Chapman Panthers. They started the season 7-0 and now sit at 17-3 overall and 5-0 in region play. Humphries is their best player, and he also happens to be one of the best shooters in South Carolina. He checks in at 9th with 55 made threes on 150 attempts, and leads Chapman at 16.9 points per game. Grayden first caught my eye in a monster 24-point game in Round 2 of the playoffs last season, so you know he is built for the big stage and won't tighten up in the postseason with bigger expectations this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='3274266' first='Owen' last='Woods'] (Crescent) - Just below Humphries with 51 made threes so far this season is Woods. Owen doesn't have the individual numbers that some of the others in the list have, but when it comes to pure, spot-up shooting, he is just as good as any of them. The Tigers sit at 10-11 this season and are not the most explosive offense with 52.6 points per game, which means the spacing created by Woods' consistent outside shooting is crucial on a game-to-game basis. Also, despite being listed at just 5'9", Owen is an important defensive playmaker who averages 5.7 rebounds per game and 1.7 steals per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1487226' first='A.J.' last='Washington'] (Fort Mill) - [player_tooltip player_id='1487226' first='A.J.' last='Washington'] rounds out this list of shooters to know this season. A.J. is top 20 in the state with 48 made threes through 21 games, but he might be the most intriguing prospect of the group because of his strong 6'4" frame. He has always been an efficient three-point shooter, but Washington is taking a much bigger volume of threes in comparison to his freshman and sophomore seasons at Fort Mill High School, while also boosting his per-game scoring number to over 18 a night. A.J.'s recruitment has cooled off since he received two D1 offers early in his cycle, but make no mistake, he will be a key contributor at the next level, regardless of where he ends up.
