As the season has unfolded, new names have continued to emerge across South Carolina - players who may not have entered the year with much buzz but have quickly earned attention through consistent production, growth, and impact on winning. This list highlights prospects who have forced their way into the conversation and are proving they belong on the radar moving forward.

Leading off this list of names I've learned so far this season is [player_tooltip player_id='3345741' first='Oshon' last='Browman']. I got to know Oshon early in the season, watching him for the first time at the Impact Sports Invitational before catching back up with him at the Big Red Box Invitational. The former was by far his best game of the season, as he went for a dominant 28 points and 9 rebounds, while the latter was also a nice performance where he put up 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Browman is an old-fashioned big man with a bruising body and great feet who will work hard on the glass, neutralize a height disadvantage with patience and persistence, and even put his big body on the line to make winning plays.

Carmello was a late addition to the Sumter Roster after transferring in from North Central, where he averaged 11 PPG and 8 RPG as a freshman last season. He hit the ground running with a few big games in the non-region slate, but he still has some untapped potential. Burch plays bigger than his listed size because he works hard around the rim on both ends of the floor. He has some decent bounce and touch when playing in close, but once he develops a consistent ability to create his own looks outside of the paint, he will be a very good player for the Gamecocks.

The Waccamaw Warriors are off to an excellent start to the 2025-26 Season, and one of the big reasons why is Reisdorff. He is their 3rd leading scorer at 8.4 PPG, but is also a dominant rim protector who blocks over two shots a game. Tiki isn't overly athletic or flashy when he's blocking shots, but he works hard to cover ground and does a good job of staying vertical. His motor also translates to other areas of the game, like the offensive glass and movement without the ball. Reisdorff showed some flashes with a mid-range jumper and a pair of nice hook shots when I watched him at the Battle of the Bay Showcase, but I'm intrigued to see how much more he can grow on the offensive end.

Another player whom I was introduced to at the Battle of the Bay Showcase is Elijah. He has had some monster scoring games so far this season, including a 31-point outing against Hanahan on day two. Coles just seems to have a knack for scoring the ball and gets it done in many ways. He has an excellent feel for changing pace with the ball in his hands and a gifted ability to hang in the air at the rim. Elijah is also a shifty ball-handler, comfortable hitting jumpers from range off the dribble, and finishes through contact. Keep an eye on him to make a push to be one of the state's top scorers this season if he continues on this trajectory throughout region play.

In terms of pure shooting performances, I haven't seen many better this season than Hightower's matchup with Ben Lippen in round two of the Lexington Roundball Classic. Unfortunately for the Stallions, it ended up in a loss, but Kingston was a major bright spot as he went for 20 points with 6 3PM. His shooting came in versatile ways: off the catch, the dribble, from designed actions, and from deep range. Horse Creek only has two players with double-digit made threes at the time of writing, so there is a lot of pressure on Hightower to create spacing for the offense, but he has been up to the task and extremely efficient this season at 44% on over 80 attempts from three.

Rounding out the new names I've learned so far this season is the second Horse Creek Academy Stallion, [player_tooltip player_id='3345758' first='Jacob' last='Hammonds']. Hammonds is one of the more raw players in this list, but he is also one who I think can be a terrific player once he fully develops. He makes sharp rotations to protect the rim, can handle for one or two dribbles, is a strong finisher around bodies, and has excellent touch on close shots inside the paint. Despite coming off the bench in most games, Jacob is Horse Creek's fourth leading scorer and could be a key factor if they go on a deep run in Class 1A.
