Desert Pines got out to a 15-9 lead and it looked like an upset was potentially brewing.

Their lead quickly evaporated in the second quarter though, after the Gaels began to hit their shots from downtown.

They also used their defense to stifle Desert Pines, and just about Jaguar had a difficult time getting their shots to fall.

Except for [player_tooltip player_id='1707443' first='Chase' last='Robertson'], he started to take matters into his own hands and made sure that Desert Pines never fell too far behind.

Despite his efforts, Bishop Gorman took the lead and went into halftime up 34-26.

Then in the third quarter, Bishop Gorman's offense continued to roll thanks to [player_tooltip player_id='2086139' first='Tyler' last='Johnson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2047786' first='Kameron' last='Cooper']. And the Gaels still led 53-45 going into the final quarter of play.

Desert Pines kept battling though, and Aaron McMorran hit a 3 with less than 2 minutes to go to make it just a 5 point game.

Then Bishop Gorman closed things out by hitting a couple of free throws. And officially picked up their first conference play win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2047786' first='Kameron' last='Cooper'] did what he does best against Desert Pines last night. He was looking for quality 3-point opportunities and found a few. He notably hit back to back triples in the second half for the Gaels, which helped them build a significant lead. On the other end of the court, Cooper was contesting shots with his long reach.

[player_tooltip player_id='2086139' first='Tyler' last='Johnson'] was using his quick first step to burn defenders to get to the rack. He also did a solid job of keeping his eyes on the rim as the defenders closed in on him. In addition to making some tough lay-ups, he got to the line and made a pair of free throws. Defensively, he covered ground at a rapid rate and made the DP guards feel uncomfortable with his relentless ball pressure.

Sharpshooter, [player_tooltip player_id='1965271' first='Hudson' last='Dannels'], poured in multiple shots beyond the arc thanks to his high release point and consistent shooting stroke. His confidence was evident, and I liked how he had zero hesitation before letting it go. Beyond his play on offense, he collected a couple of rebound and played hard on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1707443' first='Chase' last='Robertson'] exploded for 28 Points yesterday in impressive fashion. He was getting downhill almost whenever he wanted, and used his long reach from there to drop in lay-ups. He also had the play of the game when he drove hard to the basket and a defender tried to jump wit him. Robertson then sent home one of the best dunks I've seen recently of and it got the crowd out their seats. I was also a fan of how he drew contact when attacking, and the senior poured in 7 free throws.

[player_tooltip player_id='2374347' first='Aaron' last='McMorran II'] unfortunately got into some early foul trouble. Which forced him to play less minutes than usual in the first half. Then in the second half he began to have a bit more success. And hit a jumper, floater and a couple of free throws. He also got that 3 to fall with minimal time life in the 4th quarter as mentioned above. He and the Jaguars will look to bounce back against Las Vegas.
