The 2026 Prep Hoops South Carolina Showcase took place on Saturday, January 3rd, at Greenville High School. This year's event featured eight Palmetto State teams across five matchups, along with two elite programs from outside the state. First up in my coverage is "Five Unranked Prospects who Impressed at the Prep Hoops SC Showcase", because at Prep Hoops, the unranked players matter just as much as the ranked ones! Check it out:

Leading off my list of Five Unranked Prospects who Impressed at the Prep Hoops SC Showcase is [player_tooltip player_id='2130006' first='William' last='Street']. The Warriors were struck by the injury bug on Saturday, clearing room for guys like Street to step into a big role against cross-town rival Greer. William did just that, putting up 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists with 2 3PM in a 58-45 win. His jumper features a high arc, great rotation, and a repeatable motion, which all indicate he can become an even better shooter down the road. Street could have shot it more, but he is naturally an unselfish player who can handle it and make plays for others in spots.

An unranked big man whom I enjoyed watching in Greenville was Wall. It wasn't the best overall game from Chesnee, who are one of the teams to beat in 2A this season, but Coy did a lot of things to keep the Eagles from ever falling too far behind. Most importantly, he dominated the glass, racking up 10 rebounds. This was evident not only when he was on the floor, but when he was off it, Chesnee was noticeably worse in that department. On the offense end, Wall is a little raw with his back to the basket but is solid when facing up, and will also run the floor in transition. He finished with 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals in game one.

This was my third time watching Easley this season, and [player_tooltip player_id='3300657' first='Trey' last='Walk'] has continuously gotten better in each game. Saturday, he put up 7 points off the bench thanks to two catch-and-shoot threes with a quick release. Walk also made a couple of impressive plays as a passer off a baseline-out-of-bounds set and a dump-off pass. But it was his defense that most impressed me. Trey is a great on-ball defender who moves his feet well, forces chaos with active hands, and plays with a little bit of an edge to get his teammates fired up.

Andre got the nod in the starting lineup for Seneca to help with the ball-handling and defensive responsibilities in a matchup with Indian Land. He showed up in multiple areas in the box score, though, going for 5 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Seay is a decent shooter and plays without fear on both ends of the floor. He is super scrappy when picking up the ball, which helps him make up for his size. Andre had some success against bigger guards, but overall, it wasn't enough as Seneca dropped just their third game of the season.

Rhodes rounds out the unranked prospects who impressed at the Prep Hoops SC Showcase. He is the lone player on this list who played for an out-of-state team - Independence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. King was a key factor in the Patriots hanging around with host, Greenville High School. I really liked his strong frame and ability to play above the rim, but he can also stretch the floor with shooting or create for others off the dribble. He finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.
