There have been a lot of players taking the junior jump this season, and many of them being guards who are a bit overlooked for one reason or another. Here's a look at five wings from the Richmond area that are on the come up and coaches should take a look at!

[player_tooltip player_id='2966558' first='Shamir' last='Williams'] | 6'1” SG | LC Bird

Williams is perhaps the breakout player in the RVA so far this season, as he's emerged as LC Bird's top scorer and has been lighting it up for a team that has surprised a lot of people with their success. Williams has an absolute burner from deep and has been getting more up as he's gained confidence, he attacks off the catch well and gets to the rim where he can draw contact and finish through it, and he is great in their press and uptempo style of play.

[player_tooltip player_id='3275795' first='Sam' last='Setter'] | 6'0” SG | Collegiate

Setter has emerged as Collegiate's go-to scoring threat, as he's put up big numbers as a knock down shooter who can also create for himself and others. He thrives in working off the ball and he understands spacing to create passing lanes for his teammates, he has good range and a quick release to get his shot off, he is a good secondary ball handler, and he brings good energy as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815344' first='Eduardo' last='Marra'] | 6'4” SF | Carmel School

Marra played a big role in Carmel making a run to the VISAA D-III state championship game last year, and the Italian native has only continued to improve since then. The 6'4” wing creates and takes advantage of mismatches whether it's posting smaller defenders or driving by slower ones, he can score it in different ways both on and off the ball, and he does a good job challenging shots and rebounding on both ends too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470566' first='Brady' last='Burnette'] | 6'2” SG | St. Chris

Burnette has been a vital player for St. Chris over the last few seasons, but he's really stepped up his production this year as he's been putting up consistent scoring numbers as one of the best shooters in the Richmond area. He has great feet and moves well off the ball to get open for kick-outs, he attacks well off the catch and off dribble hand-offs and can get to spots for his pull-up, he draws contact and gets to the line often, and he gives great energy on the defensive end as well.

Ed Pittman | 6'4” SF|. Clover Hill

Pittman is having a breakout season over at Clover Hill, and is emerging as one of the more high upside players in the RVA area moving forward. At 6'4” with long arms and explosive leaping ability he thrives in transition where he can play above the rim, he's improved quite a bit in his ability to knock down shots and create off the bounce, he's a very good rebounder on both ends of the floor, and his high motor and blue collar mentality makes him a very good defender as well.
