They will be at the Henrico Event Center, and he will be one of the top shooters and scorers at the event. Shamir had a monster showing at the East Coast Live, where he exploded for 36 points in one game. He is a lights-out shooter, great ball-handler, and high-IQ player who always seems to find his spots and score on or off the ball at a very high rate.

Shamir is a score-first combo guard standing at 6’1. He will be one of the key returners for L.C. Bird next year. He plays for Local Legends 17U and has had a monster summer with both teams at the live events. He’s a very efficient 3pt shooter and high-quality scorer from multiple levels. He has a tight handle and great instincts around the rim on when to attack close outs or to let it fly from beyond the arc. He will be a player college coaches will want to take a look at this weekend.

He came with intensity and displayed his ability to guard other teams’ primary players well. He also shot it very well from behind the arc. Shamir will be a key piece for L.C. Bird this year and has been a big part of the Local Legends 17u squad. He is a very talented ball-handler who can be effective on or off the ball, showing he’s a talented combo guard. I fully expect him to be a player that college coaches will be on moving forward.

He’s known as a lethal shooter and has consistently made defenses pay from behind the arc. Whether it’s spot-up opportunities or kick-out threes in transition, Shamir has proven he can convert at a high rate.

He may still be considered under the radar in some recruiting circles, but that likely won’t last long. Shooters who can impact winning on strong programs tend to get noticed quickly once travel season begins.

With a productive spring and summer, Shamir’s stock should rise. College coaches looking to add perimeter firepower will absolutely have him on their evaluation list.
