SG [player_tooltip player_id='2754678' first='Michael' last='Gordon'] (Bettendorf)
The move: 31 to 8

The most significant jump in this update comes in the form of Gordon, the 6-2 sharpshooting guard from Bettendorf who has had a sensational start to his junior year. After serving as more of a catch-and-shoot option at North Scott last season, he's showcasing his all-around offensive talents for the Bulldogs this season, averaging 20.7 points per game on 45-39-77 shooting splits. He has a pure stroke off both the dribble and the catch, unlimited range (as he showed with his game-winner that ended up on SportsCenter's Top 10 against Muscatine), and is incredibly confident in his ability as both a scorer and facilitator.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='2419846' first='Nicare' last='Cavil'] (Johnston)
The move: 35 to 20

Cavil has taken full advantage of senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1765517' first='Tino' last='Daye Jr'] being injured early this season, stepping into the lead role for the Dragons and thriving. A skilled ball-handler, shot creator, and on-ball defender with quick hands and feet, Cavil is averaging 18.2 points, 2.0 assists, and 2.6 steals per game so far in his junior year.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2419755' first='Tillman' last='Papcun'] (Norwalk)
The move: 42 to 21

Speaking of players who are playing with a ton of confidence right now, Papcun may be one of the most improved players in the state, regardless of class. A 6-2 wing who can score from all three levels, he has really improved as a ball-handler and shot creator. He's averaging 21.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.0 steals per game on 50-43-85 shooting splits for the Warriors.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='2370429' first='Peter' last='Wedewer'] (Wahlert Catholic)
The move: 50 to 31

Wedewer is a tough, talented lead guard who impacts the game in a major way on both ends of the floor. He's one of the better on-ball defenders in his class, with quick hands, great lateral movement, and a high IQ. On the offensive end, he's equally adept as a three-level scorer or playmaker, averaging 15.9 points and 4.2 assists per game on 45-36-85 shooting splits.

PG [player_tooltip player_id='2530471' first='Tate' last='McCollum'] (Solon)
The move: 63 to 35

Few players in the state have as much confidence in their jumper as McCollum, son of Iowa head coach Ben McCollum, does. Tate has "in the gym" range, routinely pulling up from well beyond the high school line and burying shots. He shoots it incredibly well off the dribble, getting the ball into his shooting pocket in a hurry and using good footwork to create some additional space to get his shot off. His shot off the dribble seems to catch opposing defenders off guard with just how quickly he's able to launch, and perhaps with the distance he launches from as well. But he's not a chucker, shooting 42.3% from the 3-point line and averaging 22.8 points per game to lead an undefeated Spartans team.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2754714' first='Trey' last='Osterhaus'] (Carlisle)
The move: 65 to 38

Osterhaus is relentless, constantly looking to attack the rim off the dribble or off of good off-ball movement. He does a great job finishing through contact and getting to the free-throw line, and he has been a pest on the defensive end of the floor as well, using his length and athleticism to come away with 2.7 steals per game. He's among the leading scorers in Class 3A so far this season, putting up 23.5 points per contest.

SG [player_tooltip player_id='2906415' first='Beckett' last='Boeset'] (Clear Creek Amana)
The move: 79 to 47

CCA lost a ton of production from last year's team and needed someone to step up and become a leader. That someone is Boeset, who is enjoying a breakout junior year after a strong 16U summer. A long, skilled wing who can score from anywhere on the floor, he's able to shoot over his defender, using his size to his advantage. He's averaging 19.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per game on 52-41-77 shooting splits.
