The 6-2 junior guard was really good against Heelan in the Cardinals' season opening win, scoring 13 points on 5-12 shooting to go with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block. He has good size as an off-ball guard, moves well without the ball in his hands, and has a quick, smooth release off the catch. He's a good ball-handler who provides some secondary playmaking for Treynor and his ability to stretch the floor opens things up for his teammates.

Scott's activity on the glass stood out for Heelan, grabbing 8 rebounds against Treynor to go with 8 points, 2 assists, and a block. He has a non-stop motor and was extremely active as a rebounder on both ends of the floor.

The top-ranked player in the state was sensational against Liberty in North Scott's season opener, scoring 45 points on 16-28 shooting (2-10 3P, 11-12 FT), 14 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. His frame has really started to fill out, and he's using that added strength to his advantage around the rim, finishing through contact routinely. He didn't shoot it well from the 3-point line, going just 2-10, but the form is still pure, and he had a few attempts just rim in-and-out. A normal 3-point shooting night from him and he would've dropped 50.

In that same game, Washpun was also fantastic, scoring 40 points on 16-31 shooting (6-11 3P, 2-3 FT), with 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal. One of the most talented juniors in the state, he showed improvement in his perimeter jumper, knocking down six 3-pointers and doing so both off the dribble and the catch. He's great with the ball in his hands, getting to his spots off the dribble whenever he wants, and he has fantastic body control around the rim. At one point in the second half, Washpun made eight straight shots to keep the Lightning alive in the game. In addition to his immense talent as a scoring threat, he's a gifted playmaker who sees the floor extremely well and puts his teammates in good positions.

This was my first time getting to see Lane play live, and despite the Cowboys getting blown out by the #1 team in Class 1A, St. Edmond, Lane impressed. A legitimate 6-4 forward with great footwork and soft touch around the rim, he displayed a few go-to moves and countermoves on post touches, scoring 23 points on 7-14 shooting. He showed that he can step out and stretch the floor, knocking down his lone 3-point attempt but showing good form and getting good rotation on his shot. He blocked three shots against the Gaels, showing some bounce and timing as a shot blocker.

Wilmington showed impressive poise and decision-making against Liberty, scoring 22 points on 8-17 shooting (3-8 3P, 3-3 FT), to go with 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. A quick, skilled guard with elite handles, and a great feel for the game, he impacts the game on nearly every possession on either end of the floor. He's able to split double teams at the top of the key and slither through to the paint, where he can either score through contact or kick out to an open shooter or cutting teammate. Defensively he has quick hands, great lateral movement, and a knack for jumping passing lanes and turning defense into offense.
