Murphy is part of a big group of new players at Bethel Academy under new coach Angelo Hernandez, and he's made his presence felt very early on for this talented group. At 6'4” Murphy has a strong and athletic build that allows him to get downhill and play through contact and above the rim, he can work off the ball on cuts and coming off of screens, he can score it in a number of different ways, and he uses his athleticism on the defensive end and on the glass to make plays too.

#41 [player_tooltip player_id='2891271' first='David' last='Massengo'] | 6'8” C | Saint James

Massengo is part of a large group of new additions coming to Saint James in their inaugural season, and he's a player who could easily move up these rankings as he continues to develop and improve over the years. At 6'8” he's a big body who clogs the paint defensively and moves surprisingly well for his size, he has touch around the rim with both hands, he can carve out space to rebound and get position deep near the rim, and he still has a lot of room to continue to get better moving forward.

#47 [player_tooltip player_id='2353569' first='Makiah' last='Gray'] | 6'1” PG | Bethel Academy

Another Bethel player who is new to the rankings, Gray has been phenomenal for Bethel so far this season, showing his ability to run the show and make plays for himself and others effortlessly. He changes speeds and directions well and is able to get into the paint at will to collapse the defense, he has a great middle game and is able to draw contact to negate his size and get to the line, he's quick laterally to stay in front and pressure ball handlers, and he has a presence about him as a floor general that makes him a good leader too.

#49 [player_tooltip player_id='3275745' first='O'Neal' last='Allotey'] | 6'8” C | Mount Vernon

Allotey has been one of the breakout players in the DMV so far this season, and the scary thing about him that I've heard from sources is that he's only been playing basketball for a couple of years so he's just scratching the surface with how good he can be. Standing 6'8” with long arms and good mobility Allotey thrives in his ability to run the floor and finish above the rim, he shows good touch out to the three-point line, he has improved quite a bit with his hands as well as his ability to create for himself, and he has a natural ability to find open teammates that's very impressive for how long he's been playing.

#52 [player_tooltip player_id='1963395' first='Cameron' last='Prosper'] | 6'7” PF | Bethel Academy

Prosper is the third Bethel player that is new to this list, and he's a guy we're pretty familiar with as he was a standout at Hayfield in both football and basketball, and decided to transfer and reclassify to the 2027 class this year after choosing to pursue basketball moving forward at the next level. Taking an extra year should be very beneficial for him to continue to develop as he has a lot of intriguing tools as a 6'7” hybrid forward who can handle the ball and make shots well for someone his size, he can guard multiple positions on the defensive end, he is an athletic finisher above the rim and a good rebounder, and he still has a lot of room to develop over the next few years.

#55 [player_tooltip player_id='3275747' first='Kyrei' last='Haywood'] | 6'7” PF | Peninsula Catholic

Haywod is a new addition to a PC team that made a run to the VISAA D-II state championship last year, and when it comes to upside and raw talent Haywood is 100% a player to keep an eye on as he continues to develop. At 6'8” he has a basketball frame and is a big time athlete who can run the floor and is an explosive finisher above the rim, he can stretch the floor and works well on the perimeter, he's a big time rebounder especially on the offensive end, and he has tons of room to continue to improve moving forward.
