[player_tooltip player_id='2126126' first='Ray' last='Brau'] of Hibbing (Jr). The Jackets are expected to win their section so pressure is on. Chisago Lakes is a team that had some momentum coming into the year but Hibbing beat them 78-68 led by the 30 points, 16 rebounds and three assists from Brau. The baskets? Just about everything was in the post: skillfully, powerfully, craftily, buckets all over the paint. And some good fast break runs were led by Ray as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412724' first='Dre' last='Collins'] of Richfield (Jr). The [program_tooltip program_id='2075852' first='Spartans' last=''] made a statement. They used their junior talent to rapidly build the lead vs Delano to 40 points by halftime. The lead was built by the play of many but physical and athletic forward [player_tooltip player_id='2412724' first='Dre' last='Collins'] once again stood tall scoring 24.

[player_tooltip player_id='3077591' first='Joe' last='Couwenhoven'] of Chisago Lakes (Sr). We just spoke about Chisago being a team on the come up and one key reason is Joe. After scoring 20 a game last year, Joe put up 30 in his season opener against Hibbing making half of his 22 shot attempts. Made a couple threes, grabbed four rebounds, dished out four assists, had four steals and led his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140563' first='Brayden' last='Heiderscheidt'] of Sleepy Eye (Jr). Playing just about every position on the floor Brayden led Sleepy Eye to a 50 point win over Martin County West with Bradyen scoring 22 points to go with six boards, four assists and three steals. The second Sleepy Eye game this weekend was postponed because of weather (one of five games in southern Minnesota that were postponed).

[player_tooltip player_id='2410596' first='Max' last='Leifker'] of Legacy Christian (Sr). Max is a 6'7 skilled big that we have been talking a lot about around here lately. He opened the season with 24 points that included three threes made among his nine makes in 15 attempts. Max also grabbed ten boards and blocked a couple shots in the 100-75 win over St. Francis.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126151' first='Marco' last='London'] of South St Paul (Jr). The Packers came out with a ferocious approach walloping Duluth Denfeld 87-54. One of the Packer standouts was [player_tooltip player_id='2126151' first='Marco' last='London'] who scored 21 points with four assists and three boards. His game totals included five threes and a couple floor burns as the Packers pressured Denfeld into mistakes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560827' first='Kale' last='Misegades'] of Henning (Sr). A triple double to start the season. In an 86-57 win over Lake Park-Audobon, Kale had 49 points, 13 rebounds and ten assists absolutely dominating the game led by his 18 of 26 shooting. That 18 of 26 included five threes made (in eight attempts) and eight of nine foul shots sunk. Incredible start to the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2121382' first='Noah' last='Stencel'] of Princeton (Sr). One of the biggest scoring explosions of the weekend came in the Tiger win over Hermantown 97-78. Stencel knocked out six threes and more importantly had 37 points overall leading his team to an opening season win. Recently offered by Briar Cliff who likely feels good about their decision after this game.
