Prescott at St. Mary’s Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Monday, December 1st I took a trip to St. Mary's for the season opener and ring night. The knights hosted a young and retooling Prescott team looking to make some noise. A 4A matchup with two top 15 teams in the conference. The game was filled with highlights from start to finish and showcased loads of talent. He hit deep three's, Pull up mid range jumpers that seem impossible to block let alone contest. Cam drove to lane and finished through traffic with two hand dunks. Cam played the passing lanes really well and got multiple steals. He set the tone for St. Mary's and showed why he is the real deal. Sebastian had lead guard responsibility's as they they were missing a couple of players. He was the lead playmaker getting everyone involved. He is a very capable scorer when needed. He is a high IQ player and just constantly fed the hot hands. Sebastian rebounded well on both sides and gave his team extra possessions. He will be a big part of another championship run for the knights. Ashton got it done on the boards and on defense. he finished well around the rim and through contact. He made good reads when he got the ball and set some teammates up for some easy buckets. He takes up space on the floor and naturally draws defenders. Carter was hot from deep and hit 6 three's on the night. When he caught the ball he was loaded up ready to shoot. He also took on a lot of the ball handling duties and showed he is capable of being a lead guard. Carter set the tone on defense for the Knights and was disrupting ball handlers all night long. Carter can have a break out year for the Knights. Pedro was quite in the first half and came out aggressive the second. Pedro put his speed on display as he got to the bucket multiple times and drew fouls. He shot 6-9 from the line. He had a total of 11 points in the 3rd quarter. Pedro also showcased his quick hand getting 3 steals leading to points of turnovers. He was tasked with guarding multiple guys playing different positions. He is a very mobile for his size and has great defensive instincts. He handled the ball well for Prescott and was guarded by the number 3 ranked player in the nation. He didn't score much but showed flashes of what is to come. He had a nice midrange jumper out the gate facing up and showing he was a threat. He battled on the boards and even had a nice putback. He moved well off the ball and had nice cuts to the bucket showcasing he mobility. He had two dunks in the lane and was not afraid of contact. He shows lots of potential and will have a good year for the Badgers.
