We jumped back into the film room to look at some local players in Minnesota that gave us their film to review and today, we have a look!

Note: don't send me private highlights, not much I can do with that because I can't see it.

[player_tooltip player_id='1874931' first='Shiloh' last='Ayitey'] of Blaine (Sr). These Bengals are surprising us again. They are 5-0 with Shiloh leading the way. He just scored 22 points in a one score win over Champlin Park. The array of scores that I see from Shiloh - who is a 6'2 shooting guard - included an attack finish off a dribble pitch, a score on a rip through attack, a floater off the spin move, an elbow jumper off the dribble pitch, and a number of finishes acrobatically at the rim.

Prospect Grade: I think Shiloh's best basketball is 3-4 years ahead of him. He's already got great body control and when that 160 pounds becomes 175 pounds his balance on the attack will be even better. He is advancing quickly as a player and if I was a junior college I would be all over Shiloh because his best days are ahead of him and they can play him immediately as a two year. I'd also look at him if I was say an Augsburg who is having great success with freshman, or an NAIA school. And if he is willing to wait and work, I would check on him as a D2 partial guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='2962770' first='Jacob' last='Balami'] of Math & Science Academy (Jr). A 15 point, ten steal, seven assist, six rebound game against PACT as a 6'4 wing. When I first saw "ten steals" I was like.... really? They are all there! Picking pockets, jumping passing lanes, they are all there for this long armed agile player. Hit some threes, unselfish player, very smart high academic kid in the classroom, this is a player to keep an eye on.

Prospect Grade: First thought is high academic schools in the MIAC. The grade point average shows that and Balami is an all around player that I think several MIAC schools should check on.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140668' first='Michael' last='Kincaid'] of Princeton (Jr). The Tigers are 6-0 and seemingly back where we always expect this program to be. Michael has been a big part of that as there are five Tigers scoring in double figures each night and Michael is scoring 18 plus. In a win over Zimmerman, Michael had 28 points making half of his twenty attempts (four threes). This is a crafty scorer at 6'1 that hit a few threes with range but went to the basket and snuck in a lot of tough shots before the defense closed the gap.

Prospect Grade: If you are a good 17u team looking for a shooter, call this guy. No, don't call him if you plan to take him to Wichita, Richmond, Dallas, Seattle, Columbia, Jackson, Lexington and three more ridiculous destinations, you shouldn't be conning any of these parents into doing that more than three times this spring/summer. But give a guy like Michael a call if you are a good local team that will put him in front of North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin local colleges because there are a few levels that will want to see Michael's scoring ability play against other good teams in the six state area.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381221' first='Carter' last='Lowis'] of Lake Crystral-Wellcome Memorial (Jr). Carter hit four threes against Norwood-Young America on his way to a 19 point game with six boards and a couple blocks. A player that teams will drop on when ball screens are set and he has a nice release with range on the jumper. Looks like a stretch big. Defensively gets length on the ball around the basket very well.

Prospect Grade: We are in a time where schools really don't have the time to stash and develop meaning, division one colleges don't trust that if they take a big man project that that player will be around long enough to work with them as they develop. Therefore a guy like [player_tooltip player_id='2126108' first='Jack' last='Thelen'] or a guy like [player_tooltip player_id='2381221' first='Carter' last='Lowis'], likely have to sign at a level lower than most 6'10-7'0 guys signed ten years ago. So with that said, I look at Carter like [player_tooltip player_id='2815217' first='Logan' last='Junkermeier'] and think him playing in front of local D2 teams will be huge this spring/summer because several of them will follow him close.

[player_tooltip player_id='2120500' first='Eli' last='Moseman'] of St. Paul Central (Sr). Eli recently put up 23 points with eight rebounds and nine assists (plus 7 of 8 foul shooting) in a win over Minneapolis Camden. Central is undefeated with Moseman leading the way this season. The first thing you see in the Moseman clips is the transition push taking one more dribble deep sucking in all the defenders to kick to a teammate for a made three. Camden is a young team and the hesitation move off the ball screen froze everything allowing Moseman to get deep for the contested make (hesitation move was used multiple times for success). Using either hand with success and the court reads against a scrambled defense have been excellent. Also uses his body well to shield the finish.

Prospect Grade: I feel like Eli would be a great D3 player, a good player that D2 teams add with partials or a guy that could snag an offer from an NAIA this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126448' first='Colton' last='Purcell'] of Annandale (Jr). A 41 point game making 17 of 28 shots including five threes, that was what the 6'3 Purcell did against Legacy. There are two things that really caught my eye in the video from this game: 1) Colton seems to have put a lot of time into his dribble separation game as he used it for his step back well, and 2) his reads of the defense off the ball set up shots. The signs of a maturing player.

Prospect Grade: A division two Northern Sun guy to me all day. We have seen the NSIC take so many athletic versatile scorers out of high school lately and Colton is that guy if he continues to play like this. Should have a big 17u season with the Fury.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560486' first='Jacob' last='Samuel'] of Hope Academy (Soph). A 6'8 big man that had 24 points and ten rebounds in a win over Spectrum and then had a 16 point, eight rebound game against TCA in following that up. Watching Jacob's film I instantly got excited for two reasons: 1) he is playing with excitement and 2) he is a back to the basket post that is playing and having success back to the basket! Using his shoulder turn with good footwork and using his strong frame to get leverage to turn and finish while shielding his man. I really like how he gets himself to his balance and finishes using his strength plus his shoulder turn is pretty quick. And again, love his excitement and old school post game.

Prospect Grade: Right now he is on the map. This video put Jacob on the map so job well done and let's keep his name in mind. Need to see where he is physically as he gets older and matures, and really need to see him this 16u season, but this is a great start as there are few guys his size that are productive and willing to battle in the paint, and Jacob is.

[player_tooltip player_id='2569233' first='De'Anthony' last='Sells'] of St. Cloud Apollo. One of the best stories of the young season, Sells not only has his team winning, he is pushing for all league, all section and maybe all state in Class AAA. Sells is averaging 24 plus points a game with nearly eight boards a contest. He is a player that really grabbed our focus last fall at the Expo and now he is deeply on the radar as a 6'6 forward that is agile and active.

If I am being honest, I thought.... small forward? But then I saw the basket attack finish, saw the spin move off the dive cut, saw the transition push after the help over block, saw the multiple threes hit with a good touch over contesting arms and then looked at the ball screen finish and then my mind went to.... combo forward! He's playing with energy, playing with agility and doing things on both ends. Impressive player.

Prospect Grade. If I am a D2 Sells is on my radar to check on right now. Naturally at 6'6 he plays in the Apollo frontcout and in today's game he will likely play the four in college but we can see he can be a stretch four and a versatile defender. I am not saying he will be a sure fire D2 guy but he is a player to get on their radar which can also be said for MIAC schools as this is a good student as well.
