The 18th annual National High School Hoops Festival took place at it's usual stomping grounds on campus at DeMatha Catholic (DC). It was another event loaded with the top high school talent from around the country and on Sunday, I was fortunate enough to take in a slate of games and compile two parts of this series highlighting the 2027 eye-catchers who took advantage of the stage.

Condon has been as steady of a 2027 local big man as we've seen since the beginning of spring. In his typical, workmanlike fashion, he led the Quakers with a game-high 21 points despite suffering a tough 65-57 loss to Bishop O'Connell on Sunday. Condon's ability to use leverage established with his brute strength makes up for the pure lack of size that he poses as a 4/5. The other layer of his game that continues to progress is his touch from outside, which makes him a true pick-and-pop threat as a screener. He made three of his eight looks from deep yesterday and pulled in four rebounds.

A new face to this Sidwell roster, Ross came into this season looking to provide shooting and floor-spacing. He wasted no time in establishing his role yesterday as he knocked down a couple of early triples in a high scoring first quarter of action. O'Connell was chasing him off the line from there on out and Ross did a nice job of attacking closeouts or gaps in the defense with balance before rising up for pull-ups from 13-to-18 feet with proficiency. He followed his fellow teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='2353562' first='Ian' last='Condon'], with 18 points on 7-of-11 from the field and 3-of-6 from deep as this Sidwell team continues to find themselves heading into the holiday stretch.

Lyons' surge the first month of this season has him in strong consideration for the No. 1 spot in the next update. An eventful month of December remains, so he'll have plenty of opportunities remaining to force our hand as the dynamic lead guard put forth another strong performance last night despite coming up short against DeMatha. With VCU on the sidelines as the Rams prioritize Lyons, he put up 17 points while converting all four of his shots from three. He also registered six rebounds and dished out five assists.

Jeffers is a long-term bet who continues to turn potential into production early during his junior campaign. So far this season, he's been a huge presence on the offensive glass for the Stags and that remained the narrative in last night's win over Clinton Grace as the 6-foot-9 forward scored 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting while collecting six rebounds, three of which stemmed from the offensive variety. His confidence continues to rise and as a result, his command in the painted area is starting to be noticed by opposing teams and how they game plan.

Veney came up in a big way for St. John's (DC) in a crucial game against Father Judge (PA) as the Cadets walked away with a commanding 65-45 win. The 6-foot-3 combo guard took home MVP honors thanks to his 19 points (7/11 FG), four rebounds, four assists and three steals as he continues to blossom into the consistent, backcourt producer for head coach Pat O'Connor.
